Jay Thompson From: RELSNER@aol.com Sent: Monday, April 09, 2007 2:00 PM To: lay.thompson@palmsprings-ca.gov Cc: Ron.Oden@palmsprings-ca.gov, Chris.Mills@palmsprings-ca.gov Subject: New Airport Commission vacancy(A.D. Kessler's Death) Hi Jay, Though you may have heard, or will hear from Marjorie Kossler at the Airport, I wanted to alert you that Airport Commissioner A.D. Kessler passed away this past weekend. (He had been ill for some months, having attended only 3 meetings this year, while being excused and missing 5 due to his illness.) Commissioner Kessler's term would have expired on June 30, 2008. So the City Council subcommittee (Mayor Oden and Council Member Mills) may wish to fill that short term when interviewing for and considering the regular 3-year vacancies for terms that begin on July 1, 2007. As you know all three incumbents (Commissioners Ahlstrom, Betancur and myself) are eligible for reappointment. Bjorn Ahlstrom and I definitely plan to apply, and I'm relatively certain that Daryl Betancur will, as well.) I just wanted to alert you to Commissioner Kessler's passing, since this has created a new Palm Springs vacancy on the Airport Commission, for which you may want to invite applications.
