HomeMy WebLinkAbout17865 - RESOLUTIONS - 5/26/1992 RESOLUTION NO. 17865 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING RECOMMENDED COMITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PUNDING BDDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 1992-93. WHEREAS, the City is eligible to receive an entitlement of $398,000 of Community Development Block Grant funds as a central ci:cy under the Department of Housing & Urban Development Regula- tions, and WHEREAS, the funds must bo used for eligible activities which principally benefit low and moderate income people, and WHEREAS, the City Council appointed Citizen's Advisory Commission has held a public hearing to receive citizen's input on the allocation of these funds, and WHEREAS, the projects have been assessed by staff and the Citizen's Advisory Commission, based on needs of low and moderate income neighborhoods to benefit 'the maximum number of people. W)MREAS, the City Counci] has held a public hearing to receive ' public input on ::he allocation of these funds, and NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California, does hereby approve the following allocations for the Community Development Block Grant fundii.g: ' F.I.N.D. Operations (Food in Need of Distribution) 1,672 Housing Authority Emergency shelter for the Homeless Operations 8,000 Desert Transition House Operations 3,200 college of the Desert C.A.R.E. 1,000 Volunteer Center of Greater Riverside Long Term Care Ombudsman Program 2,528 Harvest of Wellness (I{OW) Foundation Counseling Program 1,000 ' Alternatives to Domestic Violence Operating Expenses 1,000 Palm Springs Senior center Vehicle Purchase 10,000 Palm Springs Police Department community Project Officer 7,600 At Risk Youth Program 5,700 1 shelter from the storm 20,720 Palm Springs Youth Center Renovation 66,980 Senior Center Repairs- 10,000 Park Design/Coyote Run 25,000 R17865 Page 2 Basis L'o Park Improvements 20,000 Home Reh4Hilitation/Senior Rome Repair 90,000 Desert highland Eire Sprinklers ll,000 General Administration 37,713 Fair dousing Program 41,887 'tia-ZAY, COST $,.3fi5,000 ADOPTED this 26th day Of May 1992.
