AIRPORT ACCESS CONTROL MAINTENANCE - AMENDMENT#1
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve Amendment#1 to Agreement No. 4229 with Mosier, Inc for
airport access control maintenance by modifying the Scope of Services and Schedule
of Compensation for fiscal year 2001/2002 in an amount not to exceed $75,962.
SUMMARY:
The Security Access Control System (SACS) is required by the Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) as part of the overall security of the Airport. Mosier, Inc, the
manufacturerof the system is currently providing maintenance services forthe system.
This amendment would modify the Scope of Services and Schedule of Compensation
for fiscal year 2001/2002.
BACKGROUND:
The SACS system consists of many specialized electronic components, many of which
are proprietary to Mosler, Inc.. The system was originally installed by Mosier, Inc in
1992, with a major upgrade in 1999. This upgrade was required as part of the Airport's
Year 2002 Program and Phase IIA of the terminal expansion.
Since the 1999 upgrade, certain portions of the system have performed as expected.
When this agreement was executed last year, it was anticipated that the computer
operating system would be accepted and completed its warranty phase. However, the
computer operating system has yet to fully complete acceptance testing. Fiscal year
2001/2002 had an original cost of $93,257. This amendment reduces the cost to
$75,962
Sufficient funds have been budged in account 415-60-6225-43200, Contractual
Services.
