TO: City Council
FROM: City Manager
SUBJECT: ALLOCATED POSITIONS AND COMPENSATION PLAN FOR POSITIONS
IN THE CITY SERVICE FOR THE 2001-02 FISCAL YEAR
RECOMMENDATION:
Because it is necessary to define the regular positions in the City service, it is
recommended that City Council approve the Allocated Positions and Compensation
Plan for positions in the City service for fiscal year 2001-02.
SUMMARY:
This requested action would establish an Allocated Positions and Compensation Plan
for positions in the City service for fiscal year 2001-02
BACKGROUND:
The attached Allocated Positions and Compensation Plan implements the Council's
approval of the 2001-02 budget. The major changes include: the addition of one
dispatcher; one PC/Network Administrator for the library; 5.5 positions for the James O.
Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center and Recreation Programs which are replacing
temporary employees at both facilities; two intern fire fighters; and the transfer of one
Senior Secretary from Aviation to Procurement. Additionally, several positions have
been eliminated.
The total number of allocated positions is 445.50, which represents a total increase of
2.50 positions over the fiscal year 2000/01 authorized position allocations.
