Husfeldt Subject: Please refrain from misquoting and/or misrepresenting me! How dare you, not once, but twice misquote and misrepresent my words and intentions relevant to my ongoing input and support for your resolution, DURING TODAY'S TELEVISED HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MEETING. I stood up last week at council, and again, today, using the words of"appreciate, applaud and approve" in support of the primary objectives of the The Human Rights Commission in this effort. I have never taken the position to either dey_eat or devalue fhe-imvortance and/or the integri(y of any gaals of the Palm Spr/ngs Human Rights Commission- rather, I did what you should have done...) listened and engaged the community you wish to represent in this goall I also indicated, quite clearly, that the suggestions delineated in blue, were a composite of input from others including some of those who you will be addressing on Wednesday. I said again today, "these are not my words alone, but a collection from others". In the initial case, you said "Wendie Busig-Kohn was the most verbal in opposition". UNTRUE, bordering on slanderous and defamaning. In the second case, I DID NOT say, on my own personal behalf that the wards"zero tolerance"were not acceptable. Furthermore, the reference of"community participation was largely upstaging"was quite unfortunate. This is why you lose support from those who would, otherwise, be standing shoulder to shoulder with you, in this effort. It will be interesting to see just how many"CAC"supporters will be thereon Wednesday. I agree with Joseph. This campaign, from the onset, should have the collective responsibility of the HRCI I addressed THIS opinion also today, as I said "there was a category of complaints from within the community that stemmed from an unfortunate era of suspicion minds who wondered WHY the discussions of development were not TELEVISED, BUT, INSTEAD HELD IN OFF CAMPUS MEETINGS." Please refrain from an further reference to me. I will continue to speak for myself and ACCURATELY for others who ask me to. Sincerely yours, Wendie Busig-Kohn r7d 12/13/2006 Jay Thompson From: Jay Thompson Sent: Wednesday, December 13, 2006 10:00 AM To: Jay Thompson Subject: FW: Another correction that should be noted. Husfeldt Subject: Another correction that should be noted. Dorothy Bowens DID request minutes of the CAC meeting from December 1st. Barbara DID promise those to her. You can review the previous HRC to confirm this. AND...Because I was there, it should be duly noted that the recording device was conveniently turned off and on during what WAS a very unnecessarily HOSTILE meeting! The berating and insulting came from the three of the HRC participating commissioners towards those who "had the nerve"to try to speak up for their own concerns and ideas. This is very important for all of you to know. From this experience, I can only emphasize the absolute importance of transparency and TRUTH in reporting. There is no reason why anyone in the community who wishes to help this program cannot join in the meetings of the HRC, and under the direction of the HRC participate, including speaking at their Public Comments. Sorry. My errors. Excusez moi, s'il vous plait. I will continue to support the "MISSION STATEMENT OF THE PALM SPRINGS HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION", at Wednesday's meeting. But, I can only encourage all of you to take a look into the viability vs. liability of the"CAC sub-committee" as indicated in previous correspondence, and as questioned by other commissioners during today's HRC meeting, The name-dropping of those in attendance was also very misleading and incorrect in its representation regarding the Dec 1 st. meeting, but I will let others speak for themselves (or not). It may be absolutely apparent by their absence on Wednesday. Once again, I apologize.
