BE IT ORDAIN BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS,
CALIFORNIA, as follows:
SECTION 1. A new subsection 7 is hereby added to Subsection
(b) of Section 301 of the Uniform Building Code (1952 edition) ,
adopted by City Ordinance No. 257, to read as follows:
7. Show location of all signs and total sign area
which shall be in compliance with Chapter 81
of the "Palm Springs Ordinance Code."
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to
certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same
to be published once in The Desert Sum, a daily newspaper of
general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the
City of Palm Springs, California. This ordinance shall be in
full force and effect thirty (30) days after passage.

ORDINANCE NO. 343
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA,
ORDERING, CALLING, PROVIDING FOR AND GIVING NOTICE OF
A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE. CITY OF PALM
SPRINGS ON THE 19TH DAY OF MARCH, 1957, FOR THE PUR-
POSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF SAID
CITY A PROPOSITION TO INCUR BONDED INDEBTEDNESS BY
SAID CITY FOR A CERTAIN MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT
HEREAS, the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California, did
on the 23rd day of January, 1957, by a vote of more than two-thirds
of the members of said City Council, adopt Resolution No. 4711, entitled
1°Resolution of the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California,
determining that the public interest and necessity demand the acquisition
and construction of a certain municipal improvement, and making findings
relating thereto," which said resolution was duly signed and approved
by the Mayor of said city and attested and certified by the City Clerk
of said city;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California,
DOES ORDAIN as follows: '
Section 1. That a special election beheld, and the same is hereby
called to be held, in the City of Palm Springs, California, on the 19th
day of March, 1957, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified
voters of said city a proposition of incurring indebtedness and issuing
bonds of said city therefor, in the amount hereinafter set forth, and
for the object and purpose set forth in said resolution and hereinafter
stated.
Section 2. That the object and purpose for which said indebtedness
is to be incurred and bonds issued therefor is as follows:
The acquisition and construction by the City
of Palm Springs of a certain municipal improvement,
to-wit: additions to the sanitary sewage collection,
treatment and disposal system of- said city, consist-
ing of interceptor, collecting, trunk, lateral and
sublateral sewers, pumping stations and sewage treat-
ment plant and effluent discharge line, and includ-
ing for the foregoing appurtenances and appurtenant
work and the acquisition of all land, easements,
pipe, pumps, machinery and other property necessary
therefor.
Section 3. That the estimated cost of the municipal improvement
described in Section 2 hereof is the sum of three million eight
hundred fifty thousand dollars ($3,850,000) , and that the amount of
the principal indebtedness to be incurred therefor is the sum of
three million eight hundred fifty thousand dollars ($3,850,000) .
Section 4. That the maximum rate of interest to be paid on the
indebtedness incurred for the purpose stated in this ordinance shall
not exceed the maximulm rate permitted by law, to wit, six per cent
I (6%) per annum, payable annually for the first year and semiannually
thereafter, the actual rate or rates of interest on said bonds to be
determined at or prior to the time of the sale or sales thereof.
Section 5. That if the proposition for the incurring of bonded
indebtedness so submitted receives the requisite number of votes,
to wit, two-thirds of the votes of the qualified electors voting on

said proposition, bonds of said city in not exceeding the principal
amount stated in said proposition shall be issued and sold for the
object and purpose set forth in said proposition.
Section 6. That the polls for said election shall be opened at
seven o'clock, A.M. , of the day of said election and shall remain
open continuously from said time until seven o'clock, P.M. , of the
same day, when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in I
Section 5734 of the Elections Code of the State of California.
Section 7. That on the ballots to be used at said special
election, in addition to any other matters required by law, there
shall be printed substantially the following:

(ABSENTEE BALLOTS MAY BE MARKED WITH PEN
AND INK OR PENCIL. )
INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTERS
To vote on any measure, stamp a cross (a )
in the voting square after the word °YES"
or after the word "NO". All marks , except
the cross (+) are forbidden. All distinguish-
ing marls or erasures are forbidden and make
the ballot void.
If you wrongly stamp, tear or deface this
ballot, return it to the inspector of elec-
tion and obtain another.
On absent voter ballots mark a cross (+) I
with pen or pencil.
BOND PROPOSITION: Shall the City
:of Palm Springs incur a bonded
: indebtedness in the principal sum

Section 8. A cross (+) placed in the voting square after the
word "YES" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted
in favor of the adoption of the proposition. A cross (+) placed
in the voting square after the word "NO" in the manner hereinbefore

provided shall be counted against the adoption of the proposition.
Section 9. That for the purpose of holding said special election
there shall be and are hereby established sip: (6) voting precincts
designated as hereinafter stated. Each such voting precinct shall
consist of a consolidation of regular election precincts in the City
of Palm Springs (of the numbers hereinafter stated) established for
I the holding of state and county elections, as said regular election
precincts exist on the date 'of adoption of this ordinance. That
the polling places for the respective precincts shall be the places
hereinafter designated; and that the persons hereinafter named,
being competent and qualified electors and residents of said city
and of their respective voting precincts, are hereby appointed
officers of election for their respective voting precincts and they
shall hold said election and make return thereof in the manner pro-
vided by law.

Section 11. That the City Council of said city shall meet
at its usual place of meeting in the City Hall, on Tuesday, the 26th I
day of March, 1957, at 8:00 o' clock p.m. , of said day, and proceed
to canvass the election returns and declare the result of said election.
Section 12. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this ordinance by a vote of more than two-thirds
of all of the members of the City Council of said city, and shall
cause this ordinance to be published once a week for two (2) weeks
in the DESERT SUN, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and
published less than six (6) days a week in said city, No other notice
of such election need be given.
Section 13. This ordinance shall take effect upon its adoption.

SECTI(MT 1. SHORT TITLE. This ordinance shall be known as the Uniform I
Local Sales and Use Tax Ordinance of the City of Palm Springs.
SECTION 2. PURPOSE. The City Council of the City of Palm Springs hereby
declares that this ordinance is adopted 'to achieve the following, among other,
purposes, and directs that the provisions hereof be interpreted in order to
accomplish those purrposes:
(a) To adopt a sales and use tax ordinance which complies with the
requirements and limitations contained in Part 1.5 of Division 2 of the
Revenue and Taxation Code of the State of California;
(b) '10 adopt a sales and use tax ordinance which incorporates provisions
identical to those of the Sales and Use Tax Law of the State of California in-
sofar as those provisions are not inconsistent with the requirements and
limitations contained in Part 1.5 of Division 2 of the said Revenue and Taxa-
tion Code;
(c) To adopt a sales and use tax ordinance which imposes a one per cent
(1%) tax and provides a measure therefor that can be administered and collect-
ecl by the State Board of Equalization in a manner that adapts itself as fully
as practical to, and requires the least possible deviation from, the existing
statutory and administrative procedures followed by the State Board of Equali-
zation in administering and collecting the California State Sales and Use Taxes;
(d) To adopt a sales and use tax ordinance which can be administered in I
a manner that will, to the degree possible consistent with the provisions of
Part 1.5 of Division 2 of the said Revenue and Taxation Code, minimize the
cost of collecting city sales and use taxes and at the same time minimize the
burden of record keeping upon persons subject to taxation under the provisions
of this ordinance;
(e) To adopt a sales and use tax ordinance which can be administered in
a manner that will exclude the receipts of particular sales from the measure
of the sales tax imposed by this City which have been included in the measure
of the sales tax imposed by any other city and county, county other than the
county in which this city is located, or oitS_ in -this State, and avoid imposing
a use tax on the storage, use or other consu.;nption of tangible personal
property in this City when the gross receipts from the sale of, or the
use of, that property has been stfoject -to a sales or use tax by any other
city and county, county other than the county in which this city is located,
I or city in -this State, pursuant to a sales and use tar ordinance enacted
under the provisions of Part 1.5 of Division 2 of the said Revenue and Taxation
Code.
SECTION 3. OPEPATFS7E DATE. CONTRACT '!'IITII STATE. This ordinance
shall become operative on July 1, 1857, and prior thereto this City shall con-
tract with the State Board of Equalization to perform all functions incident:
-to the administration and operation of this sales and use tax ordinances;
provided, -that if this City shall not have contracted with the said State
Board of Equalization, as above set forth, prior to July 11 1957, this ordi-
nance shall not be operative until the first day of the first calendar quarter
following the execution of such a contract by the City and by the State Board
of Equalization, provided further that this ordinance shall not becoane operative
prior to the operative date of the 'Uniform Local Sales and Use Tax Ordinance of
the County of Piverside.
SECTION A. SALES TAX.
(a) (1) For the privilege of selling tangible personal property at
retail a tax is hereby imposed vpon all retailers in -the city at the rate of
one per cent (1j) of the gross receipts of the retailer from the sale of all
tangible personal property sold at retail in the City of Palm Springs on and
after the operative date of this ordinance.
(2) For the purposes of this ordinance, all retail sales shall be
presumecl to have consvrn:ated at the place of business of the retailer unless
the tangible personal property sold is delivered by the retailer or his agent
to an out-of-state destination or to a cornnon carrier for delivery to an out-
of-state destination. Delivery charges shall be included in the gross receipts
by which the tax is measured, regardless of the place to which delivery is made,
when such charges are included in the measure of the sales or use tax imposed
by the State of California. In the event: a retailer has no pei-manen't place of
business in the State of California, or has more than one place of business, the
place or places at which retail sales are consunniated shall be as determined
under rules and regulations prescribed and adopted by the Board of Equalization.
(b) (1) Except as hereinafter provided, and except insofar as they are
inconsistent with the provisions of Part 1.5 of Division 2 of the said Revenue
and Taxation Code, all of the provisions of Tart 1 oi. Division 2 of said Code,
as amended and in :Force and effect on July 1, 1957, applicable to sales taxes
are hereby adopted and made a part of this section as though fully set forth
herein.
(2) Maerever, and to tho extent that, in Burt 1 of Division 2 of
the said Revenue and Ta--cation Code the State of California is named or referred
to as the taxing agency, the City of Palm Springs small be substituted therefor.
Nothing in this subdivision shall be deemed to require the substitution ox the
naiie of the City of Palm Springs for the word "State" when that word is used
as part of the title of the State Controller, the State Treasurer, the State
Board of Control, the State Board of Equalization, or the name of the State
I Treasury, or of the Constitution of the Stato of California; nor shall the name
of -the City be substituted for that of the State in any section when the
result of that substitution would require action to be taken by or against
the City or any agency thereof, rather than by or against the State Board
of Equalisation, in performing the functions incident -to the administration
or operation of this ordinance; and neither shall the substitution be deemed
"Co have been made in -those sections, including, but not necessarily limited to,
sections referring to the exterior boundaries of the State of California, where
the result of the substitution would be to provide an exemption from 'this tax
with respect to certain gross receipts which would not otherwise be exempt from
this tax while those gross receipts remain subject to tax by the State under
the provisions of fart 1 of Division 2 of the said Pevenue and, Taxation Code;

nor to impose this tax with respect to certain gross receipts which would not
be subject -to tax by the State under the said provisions of that Code, and,
in addition, the name of the City shall not be substituted for that of -the
State in Sections 6701, 6702 (except in :he last sentence thereof) 6711, 6715,
6737, 6797 and 6828 of the said Revenue and Taxation Code as adopted.
(3) If a seller's permit has been issued to a retailer under Section
6068 of the said Revenue and Taxation Code, an additional. seller's permit shall
not be required by reason of this section.
(4.) There shall be excluded from the gross receipts by which the ta-r
is measured: I
(i) The amount of any sales or use tax imposed by the
State of California upon a retailer or consumer.
(ii) Receipts from the sale of tangible personal property
upon irhich a sales or use tax has become due by reason
of the same transaction to any other city and county,
county other than the county in which this city .is
located, or city in this State tinder a sales or use t1c
ordinance enacted by that city and county, county other
-than the county in vrnich this city is located, or city
in this State in accordance i7ith Fart.1.5-of'Division 2
of the said Revenue and Taxation Code.
(iii) Receipts from sales -to operators of common carrier
and waterborne vessels of property to be used or con-
stmied in the operation of such com-:ion carriers or
waterborne vessels principally outside of this City.
SsCTION 5. USE TA
(a) 11ii excise talc is hereby imposed on the storage, use or other con-
stmiption in 1:1-le City of Palm Springs of tangible personal property purchased
from any retailer on or after the operative date of this ordinance, for storage,
use or other consumption in the city at the rate of one per cent (I%) of the I
sales price of the property. The sales price shall include delivery charges
when such charges are subject to State sales or use tax regardless of the place
to uhi_ch delivery is made.
(b) (1) Except as hereinafter provided, and except insofar as they
are inconsistent i-rith the provisions of Part 1.5 of Division 2 of the said
Reventie and Taxation Code, all of the provisions of Part 1 oil Division 2 of
said Code, as amended and in force and effect on July 11 1057, applicable to
use taxes are hereby adopted and made a part of this section as though fully
set forth herein.
(2) ffherever, and to the extent that, in Part 1 of Division 2
of the said Revenue and Taxation Code the State of California is named or
referred to as the taxing agency, the City of Palm Springs shall be substi-
t-ute6 therefor. Nothing in this subdivision shall be deemed to require -the
SLIbstitution of' the nan±e of the City of Palm Springs for the word "State,,
when that word is used as part of the title of the State Controller, the

other consumption of tangible"personal property which would not otherwise be
exempt from this tax while such storage, use or other consumption remains
subject to tax by the State and the provisions of Part 1 of Division 2 oil -the
said Revenue and Taxation Code, or to impose this tax with respect to certain
storage, use or other consumption of tangible personal property which vould
not be subject to tax by the State under the said provisions of -that Code; and
in addition, the name of the City shall not be substituted for that of the
State in Sections 6701, 6702, (e.ccept in the last sentence thereof) 6711, 6715,
6737, 6797 and 6828 of the said Revenue and Taxation Code as adopted.

(3) There shall be ereinpt from the tax due under this section.
(i) The angora t of any sales or use ta., i;nposed by the
State of California upon a retailer or consumer.
(ii) The storage, use or other consumption of tangible
personal property, the gross .receipts from the sale of
or the cost of which has been subject -to sales or use
tax under a sales or use tac ordinance enacted in accord-
ance with Part 1.5 of Division 2 of the said Revenue and
I Taxation. Code by any other city and county, county other
than the county in which this city is located, or city
in this State.
(iii) The storage or use of tangible personal property in
tine -transportation or transmission of persons, property or
comrraications, or in the gener5ti.on, transmission or dis-
tribution of electricity or in 'the manufacture, transmission
or distribution of gas in intrastate, interstate or foreign
commerce by public utilities which are regulated by the
Public Utilities Commission of the State of California.
(iv) The use of consumption of property purchased by
operators of common carrier and waterborne vessels to
be used or consumed in the operation of such cotmmon
carriers or waterborne vessels principally outside the City.
SECTION 6. AMEND14RENTS.
All amendments of the said Revenue and Taxation Code enacted
subsequent to the effective date of this ordinance which relate to the sales
and use tax and which are not inconsistent with Part 1.5 of Division 2 of the
said Revenue and Taxation Code shall automatically become a part of this ordinance.
SECTIOW 7. ENJOINING COLLECTICN FORBIDDEN.
I No injtuicti_on or writ of mandate or other legal or equitable
process shall issue in any suit, action or proceeding in any court against
the State or this City, or against any officer of -the State or this City, to
prevent or enjoin the collection raider -this ordinance, or Part 1.5 of Division
2 of the Revenue and Taxation Code, of any tax or any amount of ta7x required
to be collected
SECTION 8, EXISTING SALES AYD USE TAjI ORDINANCE SUSPENDED.
At the time this ordinance goes into operation, the provisions
of Articles 28 and 28.1. of the "'Palm Springs Ordinance Code" shall be suspended
and shall not again be of any force or effect until and unless for any reason
the State Board of Equalization ceases to perform the functions incident to
the administration and operation of the sales and use tax hereby imposed; pro-
vided, however, that if for any reason it is determined that the City of Palm
Springs, California, is without power to adopt this ordinance, or that the
State Board of Equalization is without power to perform the functions incident
to the administration and operation of the taxes imposed by this ordinance,
the provisions of Articles 28 and 28.1 of the "Palm Springs Ordinance Code"
shall not be deemed to have been suspended btat shall be deemed to have been
in full force and effect at the rate of one per cent (1%) continuously from
and after July 1, 1957. Upon the ceasing of the State Board of Equalization
to perforin -Ehe functions incident to the administration and operation of 'the
taxes imposed by this ordinance, the provisions of Articles 28 and 28.1 of
the "Palm Springs Ordinance Code" shall again be in full force and effect at-
the rate of one per cent (If) .
1 Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed as relieving any person of
the obligation to pay to the City of Palm Springs, California, any sales or
use tax accrued and owing by reason of the provisions of Articles 28 and 28.1
of the "Palm Springs Ordinance Code" in force and effect prior to and including
Jttne 30, 1.9W.
SECTION 9. PI3IALTIES.
!my person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance
shall be deemed ,guilty of a, misdemeanor, and upon conviction tbereof shall be
punished by a fine of not more than $500.00 or by imprisonment for a period of
not more than six (6)-_;months in the City Jail-, or by both such fine and im-
prisonment.

SECTION 10. SIs7VERABILITY.
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or
portion of this ordinance, including but not limited to any exemption, is for
any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision o£ any court
of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance. The Council of the City of Palm Springs
hereby declares that it would have adopted this ordinance and each section,
subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion thereof, irrespective of the
fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, phrases
or portions be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 1.1. EFFECTIVE DATE. I
This ordinance is an urgency ordinance affecting, and for
the immediate preservation of, the public peace, health, safety, comfort,
convenience and general welfare and the same shall. therefore become effective
July,1, 1957. The facts constituting its urgency are as follows;
The Legislature of the State of California has enacted the
Bradley-Durnis Uniform Local Sales and Use Ta;; Law in order
to provide for uniform administration, reporting, sales and
use tax rates and collection of local sales and use taxes.
The County of Piverside has adopted a uniform county sales
and use tax ordinance. The City of Palm Springs must act
immediately to adopt this ordinance in order to avoid double
taxation of all retail transactions within this city, to pre-
vent lack of tniformi_ty, and duplication of reporting and
administration of State and local sales and use takes and to
enable the City of Palm Springs to contract with the State
Board of Equalization for performance by the Board of all of
the functions incident to the administration or operation of
city sales and use taxes before July 1, 1957.
SECTION 12. PUBLICATION. The City Cleric is hereby ordered and directed
to certify to 'the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to be
published once in the TIT DESEZtT SUN, a daily newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in the City of Palm Springs, California. I

ORDINANCE NO. 356
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS FIXING
171E, AMOUNT OF MONEY TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION FOR '
THE FISCAL YEAR. BEGINNING JULY 1, 1957
The City Council of the City of Palm Springs does hereby ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. The amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the
taxable property within the City of Palm Springs as a revenue to carry on the
various departments of such City and to pay the bonded and other indebtedness
of the City for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1957 is hereby fixed as
follows:
a) For the carrying on the various departments of the City other than
herein stated, the sum of Three hundred Fifty Nine Thousand Four Hundred
Eight Dollars ($359,1408).
b) For the maintenance and operation of Park Facilities of the City
of Palm Springs, said maintenance and operation not otherwise being provided
for, the sum of Fifteen Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($15,600).
c) For the purpose of providing and maintaining parks and music and for
advertising purposes, to be used and expended for such purposes in accordance
with Ordinance No. 192 of the City of Palm Springs, the sum of Fifty Eight
Thousand Dollars ($58,000).
d) For the maintenance and support and purchase of property necessary
for the public library, known as the Welwood Memorial Library of
the City of Palm Springs, the maintenance of said public library not being
otherwise provided for, the sum of Thirty Eight Thousand Nine Hundred Eight
Dollars ($38,908).
e) For the maintenance and operation of sewerage facilities of the City
of Palm Springs, said maintenance and operation not otherwise being provided
for, the sum of Seventeen Thousand Eight Hundred One Dollars ($17,801).
f) As concerns the bonds, issuance of which was authorized at the special
election held April 26, 1949 for the purpose of paying the annual interest
thereon as the same became due, and also the principal as same shall Yecome
due, the sum of Forty Seven Thousand Three Hundred Seventy Five Dollars ($47,375) •

g) As concerns the bonds, issuance of which was authorized at the special
election held February 111, 1956, for the purpose of paying the annual interest
thereon as the same became due, and also the principal as shall become due,
the sum of Sixteen Thousand Dollars ($16,000) .
h) For the purpose of financing the City-Is share of the employees retirement
plan for the current fiscal year, the sum of Fifty Eight Thousand Three
Hundred Thirty Dollars ($58,330).
' SECTION 2. This is an ordinance fixing the amounts of money to be raised
by taxation. The City Council therefore determines and declares that the same
shall be effective immediately by authority of the provisions of Section 36937
of the Government Code of the State of California.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk_ is hereby ordered and directed to certify
to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to be published once
in the Desert Sun, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published
and circulated in the City of Palm Springs.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS,
CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of this city does hereby declare its
intention to call an election to consider the plan for redistricting the
councilmanic districts within said city, and in accordance with the
districts and their descriptions hereinafter set forth.
SECTION 2. The nine councilmanic districts hereafter described
shall come into force and effect only upon approval of the qualified
I electorate in an election to be called, and solely for the purpose
of qualifying candidates for the office of councilmen.
SECTION 3. If three-quarters of the qualified electorate of the
city, who vote, vote in favor of the nine man councilmanic plan herein
set forth, then thereafter and upon the canvass of the ballot at the
nest general municipal election, April 8, 1958, the districts provided
herein shall come into full force and effect, and Councilmanic Districts
3, 4, 6 and 7 shall increase in geographical size; Councilmanic Districts
1, 2 and 5 shall decrease in geographical size; Councilmanic Districts
1, 2 and 3 shall decrease in population; Councilmanic Districts 5, 6 and
7 shall increase in population, in accordance with the description of
the districts hereafter set forth.
SECTION 4. The term of office for the newly created Councilmanic
District No. 9 shall commence upon completion of the canvass of the ballot
at the nest general municipal election, April 8, 1958, and shall terminate
with the termination of the tenure of councilman from Districts 1, 3,
5 and 7 now existing.
SECTION 5. This ordinance calls for the increase and decrease
in population and geographical size of councilmanic districts wherein
councilxiien' s terms have not expired; therefore this ordinance shall
not take effect unless and until it is adopted by all of the present
1 council members.
SECTION S. The contemplated nine councilmanic districts to come
into effect if this ordinance is approved at a special election to be
held in accordance with the intention declared in Section 1 above, are
described as follows:
COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT NO. 1
Beginning at the intersection of the center lines of Indian Avenue and
Ramon Road, thence Easterly along the center line of Ramon Road to the
intersection with the East line of Section 19, T48, R5E, SBBBM, thence
southerly along the easterly line of said Section 19, T4S, R5E, to the
center of Section 19, T4S, R5E, thence westerly along the center half
section line of Section 19, T4S, R5E, and Section 24, T4S, ME, to the
center line of Sunrise Way; thence northerly along the center line of
Sunrise Way to the center line of Sunny Dunes Road; thence westerly along
the center line of Sunny Dunes Road to the intersection of the center lines
of Sunny Dunes Road and Palm Canyon Drive; thence northerly along the center
line of Palm Canyon Drive to the intersection of Palm Canyon Drive and
South Indian Avenue; thence northerly along the center line of South
Indian Avenue to the point of beginning.
COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT NO. 2
` Beginning at the center line of Ramon Road and the center line of Indian
I Avenue, thence northerly along the center line of Indian Avenue to the
center line of the intersection of Indian Avenue and Tahquitz Drive;
thence easterly along the center line of Tahquitz Drive and the prolongation
of Tahquitz Drive to the center line of El Segundo; thence northerly along
the center line of E1 Segundo to the intersection of the north section line
of Section 14, T4S, R4E, SBB814; thence easterly along the north section
line of Section 14 to the intersection of the center line of Sunrise Way;
thence southerly along the center line of Sunrise Way to the intersection
of the center line of McCallum Way; thence easterly along the center line
of and the prolongation of the center line of McCallum Way to the east line
of Section 18, T4S, R5E, thence southerly along the said east line of said
Section 18, T4S, R5E, a distance of one quarter mile more or less; thence
easterly along a line to the center of the southwest quarter of Section 17,
T4S, R5E; thence southerly along a line parallel to the west section line
of Section 17, T4S, R5E, to the center line of Ramon Road; thence westerly
along the center line of 'Ramon Road to the point of beginning.
COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT NO. 3 I
Beginning at the intersection of the center lines of Alejo Road and
Avenida Caballeros, thence northerly along the center line of Avenida
Caballeros, to the center line of the intersection of Avenida Caballeros
and Vista Chino; thence easterly along the north section line of Section 11,
T4S, R4E, the same being the center line of Vista Chino, the north section
line of Section 12, T4S, R4E, and Section 7, T4S, R5E, to the north east
corner of Section 7, T4S, R5E, thence southerly along the east line of said
Section 7 and Section 18, T4S, R5E, to the easterly prolongation of the center
line of McCallum Way; thence westerly along the said prolongation of the
center line of McCallum Way to the intersection of the center line of
Sunrise Way; thence northerly along the center line of Sunrise Way to the
intersection of the center line of Alejo Road; thence westerly along the
center line of Alejo Road to the point of beginning.
COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT NO. 4
All of that portion north of Vista Chino consisting of Sections 1,
22 3, 4, 5 and 6, T4S, R4E, SDB&M, and all of Sections 22, 23, 25,
26, 27, 28, 33 and 36, T3S, R3E, SBB&M, and also Sections 31, 32, 33
and the northeast quarter, the northwest quarter, and the southwest
quarter of Section 34, T3S, R4E, SBB&M.
COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT NO. 5
Beginning at the intersection of the center ,lines of Alejo Road and
Avenida Caballeros, thence westerly along the theoretical center line
of the prolongation of said center line of Alejo Road, which is and
includes the south line of sections 11, 10, 9, 8, 7; T4S, R4E; to the
southwest corner of Section 7, T4S, R4E, thence northerly along the
west line of Section 7, T4S,. R4E; to the northwest corner of said
Section 7; thence easterly along the north section line of Sections 7,
8, 9, 10, T4S' R4E, SBB&M; and continuing easterly along the center
line of Vista Chino, which is the north section line of Section 11,
T4S, R4E; to the intersection of the center line of Avenida Caballeros;
thence southerly along the center line of Avenida Caballeros to the
point of beginning.

Beginning at the center of Section 16, T4S, R4E, thence northerly along
the one-half section line of said Section. 16 to the south line of
Section- 9, T4S) R4E; thence easterly along the south line of Section 9,
which is the prolongation of the center line of Alejo Road, to the center
line of E1 Segundo, thence Southerly along the center line of E1 Segundo
to the prolongation of the easterly center line of Tahquitz Drive;
thence westerly along the prolongation of the center line of Tahquitz
Drive to the center line of Indian Avenue; thence southerly along the
center line of Indian Avenue to the intersection of the center line of
Arenas Road; thence westerly along the prolongation of the center line

SECTION 7. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to certify
to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to be published
once in the Desert Sun, a newspaper of general circulation, printed',
published and circulated in the City ofPalm Springs.
