A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, SUSPENDING TWO-
HOUR TIME LIMITS ON INDIAN CANYON DRIVE AND
BELARDO ROAD FROM ALEJO ROAD AND RAMON
ROAD UNTIL JUNE 30, 2007.
The City Council of the City of Palm Springs finds:
A. The City Council adopted Resolution No. 19373 on October 7, 1998 establishing
a downtown managed parking program which included the allowance for
employee parking with permits in 2-hour parking zones on Belardo Road and
Indian Canyon Drive.
B. The City Council adopted Resolution No. 21628 extending the suspension of the
enforcement of time limits in City owned lots until June 30, 2007.
C. The Main Street Merchants Association has reported no adverse effects from the
suspension of time limits in City owned lots.
D. Section 12.32.010 of the Municipal Code authorizes the establishment of time
limits in parking areas on certain streets, to be established by the City Council by
Resolution.
The City Council of the City of Palm Springs therefore resolves:
Section 1, The City Council suspends the imposition and enforcement of two-hour
time limits on Indian Canyon Drive and Belardo Road from Alejo Road to Ramon Road
until June 30, 2007.
Section 2. The suspension of two-hour time limits on Indian Canyon Drive and
Belardo Road from Alejo Road to Ramon Road shall be deemed fully reinstated,
imposed, and enforceable on July 1, 2007.
Section 3. Except as expressly provided in this resolution, all regulations governing
the driving, stopping, parking, or leaving standing of vehicles on City owned parking lots
shall remain in full force and effect.
