A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, CAPPING THE CITY
CONTRIBUTION FOR HEALTH, VISION AND DENTAL
PREMIUMS FOR UNREPRESENTED EMPLOYEES AND
MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, THE City Council adopted Resolution 21284 on June 18, 2005;
WHEREAS, Section 3 of Resolution 21284 ratifies the benefits and conditions of
employment for class III employees designated as EX in the Allocated Positions and
Compensation Plan and members of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide comparable benefit options to class III
employees designated as EX in the Allocated Positions and Compensation Plan and
members of the City Council to maintain comparable benefits in relationship with the
other employee groups.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1 Section 1. The maximum City contribution to the Optional Benefit Plan shall be
determined annually based on the formula that has been used by the City. The formula
involves taking the rate increase for each benefit, and combining them to develop a
single rate increase to the maximum contribution.
Section 2. The Optional Benefit City Contribution shall not exceed 10% annually. Any
premium increases exceeding 10% for the health, vision or dental programs shall be
paid by the employee.
Section 3. This Resolution applies only to class III employees designated as Ex in
the Allocated Positions and Compensation Plan and members of the City Council and
shall become effective on January 1, 2007.
