October 4, 2006 City Council Staff Report CONSENT CALENDAR SUBJECT: AMENDMENT NO. 9 TO VSA AIRPORTS AGREEMENT FOR AIRPORT DESIGN AND ENGINEERING SERVICES FROM: David H. Ready, City Manager BY: Department of Aviation SUMMARY Amendment No. 9 will authorize the Engineer to complete design and engineering work required to install security and public flight information systems in the new Regional Jet Terminal. RECOMMENDATION: 1. Approve Minute Order No. authorizing Amendment No. 9 to Agreement No. A-4487 with VSA Airports, Inc. to provide design and engineering services for security and public information display enhancements for the new Regional Jet Terminal in the amount of $47,000, FAA AIP Project No. 3-06-0181-37. 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. STAFF ANALYSIS: The Regional Jet Terminal is currently under construction, once completed it will provide parking for up to eight regional size jet commercial aircraft. To provide the required security access control and surveillance systems, and the public information flight display system, design and engineering work to prepare for the installation of these systems must be accomplished. Amendment No. 9 to the VSA contract will accomplish this. The engineer's estimate to install the security and flight information systems is $250,000.
