A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING A COST OF LIVING INCREASE FOR UNREPRESENTED i EMPLOYEES, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2006-07 WHEREAS, the annual CPI for the Los Angeles-Riverside-Orange Counties was 5.3% for the year ending May, 2006; and WHEREAS, all employees designated in the General Unit and the MAPS unit received a 3% Cost of Living increase on July 2, 2006; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide a comparable Cost of Living increase to unrepresented employees to maintain the comparable and internal relationships with the other employee classifications; and WHEREAS, a 3% Cost of Living increase to unrepresented employees designated as EX in the Allocated Positions Resolution would amount to $54,100 (General Fund)for Fiscal Year 2006-07; and WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the full amount of the fiscal impact would be available and offset from salary savings of temporary vacant positions. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Unrepresented employees, designated as EX in the Allocated Positions Resolution adopted by the City Council shall be entitled to a 3% Cost of Living (COLA) increase to base pay and such increase shall become effective on July 2, 2006.
