HomeMy WebLinkAbout21281 - RESOLUTIONS - 6/8/2005 RESOLUTION NO. 21281 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING ALL CITY FIRE STATIONS TO BE DESIGNATED AS "SAFE SURRENDER SITES." WHEREAS, California's Safely Surrendered Baby Law allows parents to give up their baby confidentially, WHEREAS, As long as the baby has not been abused or neglected, parents may give up their newborn infant without fear of arrest or prosecution, WHEREAS, the Riverside County Board of Supervisors has designated all County operated fire stations as "Safe Surrender Sites", WHEREAS, the Palm Springs City Manager and Fire Chief recommend that all Palm Springs Fire Stations be designated "Safe Surrender Sites", THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That all city fire stations are designated "Safe Surrender Sites" for newborn infants under 72 hours old. ADOPTED THIS 8th day of June, 2005. David H.
