HomeMy WebLinkAbout21113 - RESOLUTIONS - 10/20/2004RESOLUTION NO. 21113 ' OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, ALLOWING THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, OFFICE OF GRANT SERVICES TO ENCUMBER PER -CAPITA GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS AS DESIGNATED IN STATE PROPOSITION 40 ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS. WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the Proposition 40 Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks, and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2002, which provides funds to the State of California and its political subdivisions for acquisition, development, improvement, restoration, and interpretation of local park and recreation lands; and WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the state, setting up necessary procedures governing application by local agencies under the program; and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and Recreation require the City to certify by resolution the approval for it to encumber said funds on behalf of the City of Palm Springs, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs: Section 1. That the California State Department of Parks and Recreation is hereby allowed to encumber per capita grant program funds as designated in state Proposition 40 on behalf of the City of Palm Springs. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby appointed as agent of the City to conduct all negotiations with the State Department of Parks and Recreation. ADOPTED this 20`h day of October, 2004.
