VILLAGEFEST VENDOR APPLICATION AND SPACE RENTAL FEE INCREASES
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve a new schedule of increased Vendor Application and Space Rental
Fees for VillageFest, with this schedule to be effective March 1, 2001.
SUMMARY:
Within the past year, increased operations costs for sidewalk steam cleaning, trash removal and
event security have caused a need to cover about$35,000.00 in increased annual costs.
BACKGROUND:
The VillageFest Board approved a motion on August 29, 2000 to raise vendor rental fees to
cover the increased costs of operating the event, including but not limited to steam cleaning,
trash removal and security. The increased revenue projected as a result of this fee increase is
approximately $35, 000.00 per year, which is adequate to offset recent increases in the annual
operating cost for the event Maintenance intensive vendors such as the produce farmers, have
the greatest fee increases proposed to cover these additional costs..
The last vendor fee increase for VillageFest was approved by City Council in December, 1998.

RESOLUTION NO. 19990
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION 19757, AS
AMENDED, TO INCREASE FEES FOR VILLAGEFEST
VENDOR APPLICATION AND SPACE RENTAL
WHEREAS on March 1, 2000, the City Council adopted Resolution 19757; and
WHEREAS Resolution 19757 is the City's Comprehensive Fee Schedule; and
WHEREAS the City Council desires to amend the Comprehensive Fee Schedule in
order to increase fees for VillageFest vendor application and space rental.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm
Springs, that Resolution 19757, as amended, establishing the Comprehensive Fee
Schedule, is hereby further amended, by adding the following to read:
VILLAGEFEST-VillageFest
APPLICATION FEE $25.00
MONTHLY SPACE RENTAL FEE-prepaid by 151h of previous month
Farmers 50.00/week
Non-profits 30.00/week
Non-food vendors 50.00/week
Food vendors 50.00/week
Late fee-paid after the 15'h of the previous month 25.00
WEEKLY SPACE RENTAL FEE-PAID BY THE NIGHT
