HomeMy WebLinkAbout20785 - RESOLUTIONS - 11/19/2003 ' RESOLUTION NO. 20785 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED FOR TRADE BID PACKAGE A-1 DEMOLITION, UTILITY SAFEING AND MINOR RECONSTRUCTION; BID PACKAGE A-2 DRY UTILITIES; BID PACKAGE A-3 WET UTILITIES AND BID PACKAGE A-4 GRADING FOR THE PALM SPRINGS CONVENTION CENTER EXPANSION PHASE ll, CITY PROJECT #02-27 COMMENCING WITH ADOPTION OF THIS RESOLUTION. --------------- WHEREAS, the City Council authorized solicitation of trade bids for building the Phase II expansion of the Palm Springs Convention Center via Resolution #20760 dated October 15, 2003; and WHEREAS, a Notice Inviting Bids from pre-qualified trade contractors for Trade Bid Packages A-1, A-2, A-3 and A-4 was advertised in the Desert Sun October 23, 2003 and October 29, 2003, in addition to being circulated to all pre-qualified contractors; and WHEREAS, bids were received and opened between the hours of 2:00 p.m.and 4:30 p.m., ' Tuesday, November 19th; and WHEREAS, all bids received exceeded the engineer's estimate; and WHEREAS, the bid documents and the Palm Springs Municipal Code provide the option for the City Council to reject all bids in the best interest of the City. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California,reject all bids received for Trade Bid Package A-1 Demolition, Utility Safeing and Minor Reconstruction; Bid Package A-2 Dry Utilities; Bid Package A-3 Wet Utilities and Bid Package A-4 Grading for the Palm Springs Convention Center Expansion Phase ll, City Project #02-27 Commencing with Adoption of this Resolution. ADOPTED this 1 9th day of November 2003.
