HomeMy WebLinkAbout20452 - RESOLUTIONS - 9/4/2002 RESOLUTION NO. 20452 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, ' CALIFORNIA, AWARDING CONTRACT, SUBJECT TO FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION(FAA)APPROVAL, FOR THE NORTHERLY AIRPORT TERMINAL ACCESS ROADWAYSECURITY RECONFIGURATION(AIP 3-06-0181- 35, CITY PROJECT 2002-06) TO MATICH CORPORATION IN THE AMOUNT OF$1,627,627 AND ESTABLISHING CITY PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR AND ADMINISTRATION PARAMETERS. WHEREAS the events of September 11" and the security requirements mandated by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) have greatly impacted the Palm Springs International Airport; and WHEREAS the project had a pre-bid engineer's estimate of $1,481,330; and WHEREAS the project plans and specifications were approved and adopted by the City Council on July 17, 2002, and the project has been advertised for a period of thirty(30) days for bid with bids being received on August 27. 2002,from Granite Construction Company and Matich Corporation; and WHEREAS following review of the bids,the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder has been determined to be Matich Corporation, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs as follows: Section1. Thatthe Northerly Airport Terminal Access Roadway Security reconfiguration project (AIP 3-06-0181-35, City ,Project 2002-06) is awarded, subject to approval by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), to Matich Corporation in the amount of$1,627,627. Section 2. That the Executive Director-Airports is hereby authorized to administer the contract and is authorized to approve Change Orders up to 5% of the total contract price subject to City Manager approval. ADOPTED this 4th day of September , 2002.
