HomeMy WebLinkAbout19516 - RESOLUTIONS - 5/5/1999 RESOLUTION NO. 19516 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 19221 TO INCREASE CHANGE ORDER APPROVAL FOR THE AIRPORT TERMINAL EXPANSION PROJECT FROM 2.5% OF ORIGINAL CONTRACT COSTS TO 5% AND TO INCREASE SECURITY REIMBURSEMENT ALLOCATION TO $55,000. WHEREAS the Terminal Expansion Project continues on schedule and has now passed the 60%completion mark; and WHEREAS the Contract Administration parameters, including a 2.5% allowance for the Director of Transportation(Note:Position was recently reclassified to Assistant City Manager-Operations)to approve Change Orders in the field, have been serving the timeliness of the project quite well; and WHEREAS the Change Orders to date are approaching the 2.5% preauthorized level; and WHEREAS mandated security increase by the FAA required a greater presence of security escorts at the construction site, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Sections 6 and 8 ofResolution No. 19221 are hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 6. That the Assistant City Manager - Operations is hereby authorized to reimburse Turner ' Construction Company up to an aggregate total of $55,000 for cost of security escort services." "Section 8. That the Assistant City Manager-Operations is hereby appointed project administrator for all trade contracts listed above, and shall have the authority, subject to City Manager concurrence and bi-weekly reporting of Change Orders to City Council,to approve up to 5% in Change Orders based upon the aggregate total of the above listed trade contracts."
