HomeMy WebLinkAbout19263 - RESOLUTIONS - 5/20/1998 RESOLUTION NO. 19263 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING CONTRACT, SUBJECT TO RECEIPT OF A FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) GRANT, AND SUBJECT TO FAA AWARD APPROVAL, FOR THE AIRPORT RUNWAY EXTENSION PROJECT, CP ##97-24, AIP 3-06-01 81-22, TO E.L. YEAGER CONSTRUCTION CO., INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,316,235 AND ESTABLISHING CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION PARAMETERS. WHEREAS the Palm Springs Regional Airport Master Plan centerpiece project for the airfield is the 1500 foot runway extension; and WHEREAS the project has been placed for public bid, with said bids being submitted on April 23, 1998; and WHEREAS the lowest responsive responsible bidders was determined to be E.L. Yeager Construction Co., at $3,316,235. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows: Section 1 . That contract for the Runway Extension Project CP 97-24, AIP 3-06-01 81-22, is hereby awarded subject to receipt of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Grant and subject to FAA award approval to E.L. Yeager Construction Co., Inc., in the amount of $3,316,235. Section 2. That the contract administrator shall be the Aviation Director. Section 3. That the Aviation Director is hereby authorized, with the concurrence of the City Manager, to approve Change Orders up to 2.5% of the original contract price. ADOPTED this 20th day of May 1998.
