OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM
SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING FINAL
DEVELOPMENT PLANS FOR THE PROPOSED EXPANSION
BY THE DESERT HOSPITAL COMPREHENSIVE CANCER
CENTER LOCATED AT 1180 NORTH INDIAN CANYON
DRIVE, PD-185 SECTION 11. '
WHEREAS, The Desert Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Center (the
"Applicant") , filed final development plans for a 49, 363 facility
at the existing E1 Mirador Medical Plaza (Case 5. 0421 PD-185 for
the property located at: 1:1.80 North Indian Canyon Drive; and
WHEREAS, the Desert Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Treatment Center
proposes to occupy 28 , 993 sq. ft. of the existing E1 Mirador Medical
Plaza and add 20, 370 sq.ft:. of new floor area; and
WHEREAS, the proposed building modification is a minor adjustment
and is in keeping with the intent of the approved. Planned
Development District application; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Springs
approved final development. plans for the proposed expansion by the
Desert Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Center at its regular meeting
of March 13 , 1996; and
WHEREAS, the City Council meeting of the City of Palm Springs to
consider final development plans for the proposed expansion was
posted in accordance with applicable law; and
WIIEIREAS, the City Council has carefully reviewed and considered all '
of the evidence presented :in connection with the project, including
but not limited to the staff report, and all. written and oral
testimony presented.
THE CITY COUNCIL HEREBY FINDS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Pursuant to CEQA, the City Council finds as
follows:
The mitigated Negative Declaration adopted by the City Council
in 1991, and the conditions of approval are applicable to this
project.
Section 2 : Pursuant to Zoning Ordinance Section 9403 . 00, the
City Council. finds that:
a. The proposed use is in keeping with the intent of the
Planned Development District (PD-185) .
b. That there is little or no probability the project will
be detrimental to or interfere with the existing and or future
development in the area.
C. That the use applied for is desirable for the development ,
of the community, and is in keeping with the policies and
goals of the General Plan.
d. That the site is adequate in size and shape to
accommodate the uses and all of the yards, walls or fences,
_landscaping, and other features required in order to adjust
said use to those existing or permitted future uses on the
subject property and in the neighborhood.
e. The conditions imposed on the project are deemed
necessary to protect the public, health, safety and welfare. � �,,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Palm Springs, California, hereby approves final development plans
for the proposed expansion, subject to the conditions on file at
the Office of Planning and Building.
