OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALN1i SPRINGS,
CALIFORNIA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ]LEVY AND '
COLLECT ASSESSMENTS FORPARI{WAYS MAINTENANCE
DISTRICT NO. 8 "VINTAGE PALMS" (SAN
RAFAEL/AVENIDA CABALLEROS TRACT 24853-1 AND
PARCEL MAP '2,5864 FOR FISCAL YEAR 1995/96, AND
FIXING TIMES, DATES AND PLACE FOR PUBLIC MEETING
AND PUBLIC HEARING 'THEREON.
The City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California, does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. Declaration of Intent- The City Council does hereby declare its intent to levy and
collect assessments within Parkway Maintenance No. 8 "Vintage Palms" (San
Rafael/Avenida Caballeros Tract 24853-1 and P.M. 25864 for the fiscal year
1995/96.
Section 2. Description of Work-The public interest, convenience and necessity require, and
it is the intention of the City Council to order the following work to be clone, to
wit:
A. Plant, replace, trim, water and generally maintain the trees and shrubs within
Parkways Maintenance District No. 8 "Vintage Palms" (San Rafael/Avenida '
Caballeros Tract 24853-1 and P.M. 25864).
B. Repair, replace and maintain these systems necessary for the growth of the
vegetation with the District.
Section 3. Description of Assessment District -The City Council hereby makes the expenses
of said maintenance chargeable upon the District hereby declared to be the areas
benefitted by said maintenance and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses
thereof, said assessments to be collected as a part of the annual property tax
assessment by the; County Tax Collector's Office.
Section 4. Engineer's Report - All of the said work to be done shall be as shown on the
Boundary Map of the District, on file in the office of the Contracts Administrator,
and in accordance with the ]Engineer's Report on file in the office of the City
Clerk. The City Council hereby approves the Engineer's Report and reference
is hereby made to same for a more particular description of said work; and the
same is incorporated herein and made a part hereof. The Engineer's Report
indicates an assessed amount which is $33,080.10 greater than the prior year for
tine 63 lots and parcels in the district. Annual assessments for lots 1 to 62 in
Tract 24853-1 will increase frond $11.53 to $139.59. Annual assessment for
Parcel 1 of Parcel Map 25864 wil' increase from $1,132.02 to $27,404.84 for a
total district revenue of$36,059.f J. Notice will be given under Section 54954.E
of the Government Code.
Section 5. Time and Place of Public Meeting- Notice is hereby given that on July 19, 1995,
at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber. Time and Place of Public
Hearing — Notice is hereby given that on August 2., 1995, at the hour of 7:00
p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm

Springs, California. Any and all persons having any objection to the proposed
assessment, the extent of the assessment districts, may appear and show cause
why said assessment should not be carried out in accordance with this Resolution.
Protests must be in writing and delivered to the City Clerk prior to the time set
for the hearing.
Section 6. Improvement Act - All of the work herein proposed shall be accomplished
pursuant to the "Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972", of the State of
California, Part 2 of Division 15, Section 22500, et seq. of the California Streets
& Highway Code.
Section 7. Publication of Proceeding - The "Desert Sun" a daily newspaper, printed and
circulated in the City of Palm Springs, is hereby designated as the newspaper in
which this Resolution and all other publications in the proceedings under this
resolution shall be published by the City Clerk. Under Section 6063 of the
Government Code, Notice shall be published once a week for three successive
weeks in 1/8 page advertisements in the newspaper. The period of notice
commences upon the first day of publication and terminates at the end of the
twenty-first day, including therein the first day.
' Section 8. Mailings — Notices will be mailed via first class mail to the property owners
within Parkways Maintenance District No. 8 in conformance with Section
54954.6 of the Government Code. The mailing list currently indicates 16 owners
of the 63 lots and parcels within the district as indicated in last equalized county
assessment roll.
Section 9. Designation of the Person to Receive Inquiries - The following person is
designated as the official to receive any inquiries concerning such improvements:
