OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM
SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, CONSENTING TO THE
PURCHASE: AND INSTALLATION OF 40 PARKING
METERS TO BE LOCATED ALONG THE PORT-ION
OF EL CIELO ROAD FRONTING PALM SPRINGS
REGIONAL. AIRPORT. '
WHEREAS, the Airport has continued to lose parking revenue from persons parking free on El
Cielo Road; and
WHEREAS, Airport staff has evaluated the feasibility of placing parking meters along a portion
of El Cielo Road fronting the Airport; and
WHEREAS, Annual revenue for this proposal is estimated considering 40 parking meters
collecting $2.50 per day and is broken down as follows:
First year revenue 36,000.00 Second year revenue 36,000.00
Less investment 01000.00 Less investment (0•00)
Subtotal 24,000.00 Subtotal 36,000.00
Less maintenance _-, 00.00) Less maintenance _(600.00
Revenue for split 23,400.00 Revenue for split 35,400.00

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs as follows:
Section 1 . The City of Palm Springs consents to the purchase and installation of 40 parking
meters to be located along the portion of El Cielo Road fronting Palm Springs '
Regional Airport.
Section 2. Airport Law Enforcement Officers shall enforce parking regulations pertaining to
said meters with the Airport to receive all citation revenue.
Section 3. T-he Airport shall collect coins and shall split meter revenue with the City on a
50/50 basis after [lie initial investment is paid back. Maintenance costs and
meter replacement will be paid out of revenue prior to a percentage split.
