HomeMy WebLinkAbout18292 - RESOLUTIONS - 2/2/1994 RESOLUTION NO. 18292 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF KING'S SCHOOL TO THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY. WHEREAS Anderson Children' s Foundation has proposed to occupy and enlarge the former Palm Valley School at 67-675 Bolero Road, ' Cathedral City, to operate King's School; and WHEREAS the City of Cathedral City has requested comment regarding the subject project from the City of Palm Springs due to its location adjacent to the City of Palm Springs and. to the fact that its primary access is through the City of Palm Springs via. Bolero Road; and WHEREAS the Planning Commission reviewed the subject project on January 12 , 1994, and recommended general approval of the site plan and the architectural solution but requested that the Cathedral City Planning Commission defer approval of the required conditional use permit to allow for a study of the traffic impacts; and WHEREAS the Planning Commission recommended that the trash enclosure and the maintenance area be located so not to impact residents of the City of Palm Springs; and WHEREAS a study regarding traffic impacts, focusing on sight distances, was submitted to the City Engineer by Holt Architects; and WHEREAS said study was determined by the City Engineer to demonstrate that there would be no significant traffic impact due to the school; and WHEREAS the City Council reviewed the subject project on February ' 2, 1994; and WHEREAS the City Council concurs with the recommendation of the Planning Commission; and WHEREAS the City Council accepts the report of Holt Architects and the determination of the City Engineer regarding sight distances. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City Council of Palm Springs, California, as follows: Section 1. The City Council recommends approval of the King' s School by the Cathedral City Planning Commission except that it recommends that the trash enclosure and the maintenance area be relocated so that they are accessible from Palm Valley School Road and such that the subject facilities will not have the potential to negatively impact residents within the City of Palm Springs. ADOPTED this 2nd day of February 1994.
