HomeMy WebLinkAbout18188 - RESOLUTIONS - 10/6/1993RESOLUTION NO. 18188 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ` PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA REGARDING EMPLOYMENT POLICIES WHEREAS, the City of Palm Springs is a major employer in the Coachella Valley; and WHEREAS, the City of Palm Springs, in its role as an employer, wishes to be a leader in addressing issues of employment; and WHEREAS, the City Council has created the Human Rights Commission to advise the City Council on matters within its purview; and WHEREAS, the mission of the Human Rights Commission is to promote improved human relations, civic peace, intergroup understanding, and the full acceptance, respect, and participation of all persons in all aspects of community life so that we will be equal in the eyes of each other; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California, that it is the City Council's goal that the current mission statement of the Human Rights Commission should be reflected in the employment policies of the City of Palm Springs.
