HomeMy WebLinkAbout18166 - RESOLUTIONS - 8/11/1993 RESOLUTION NO. 18166 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA SUPPORT THE PROJECT CONCEPT AND LAND USE OF TENTATIVE TRACT' MAP 26686 AMENDED NO. 3 AND RECOMMEND APPROVAL SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS TO SUBDIVIDE A 2215 ACRE SITE FOR A 390 UNIT RESIDENTIAL SUBDIVISION LOCATED SOUTHWESTERLY OF HIGHWAY 111, AND NORTHERLY OF PALM OASIS AVENUE IN THE WINDY POINT AREA, SECTION 24 . WHEREAS Palm Springs West has applied to Riverside County for a change of zone from W-2 and C--P-S to R-1 and R-5 and a subdivision '+ of 225 acres into 390 residential lots with fifteen recreational � 1 Lots including a country club with an eighteen-hole golf course; and WHEREAS the Riverside County Eastern Area Planning Commission considered the proposal at its regularly scheduled meeting of June 9, 1993 and approved said project:; and WHEREAS the city Planning Commission considered the: proposal at its r, regular scheduled meeting of July 28, 1993; and WHEREAS the City Planning commission has reviewed all evidence provided including but not limited to the staff report, plans, and all written and oral testimony. ' WHEREAS at the conclusion of its hearing on July 28, 1993, the City Planning Commission adopted Resolution No. 4255 , recommending that the City Council support the project concept and land use and recommend approval subject to increasing the 20 foot setback along Highway 111 to a 50 foot setback as per the City's R-1-A standards and provide landscaping and a wall within the 50 foot setback, the applicant revise the lot configurations along Range View Drive, prepare a restoration program for hillside grading and finally, remove all existing billboards on the project site.
