HomeMy WebLinkAbout18101 - RESOLUTIONS - 6/2/1993 RESOLUTION NO. 18101 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND TO BE SURPLUS. WHEREAS,the City of Palm Springs acquired one hundred acres of land in 1979 at the ' northwest corner of Sunrise and San (Rafael for the purpose of developing affordable housing; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to grant 0.763 acres being a portion of APN 669- 50E-020 (Lot 2)to the CoacheNa Valley Housing Coalition (CVI'1C) for the construction of a child care center in conjunction with the newly constructed affordable housing project known as Coyote Run; and WHEREAS, said 0.763 acres will be made a part of Lot 1, increasing the size of Lot 1 to 14.08 acres; and WHEREAS, the land has been zoned 0-5 and under Land Use Permit allows for the construction of a child care center; and WHEREAS, it is determined that the land will not be used for any other project now or in the future; and WHEREAS, the City Council on January 20, 1993 reviewed the request and granted concept approval, directing staff to amend the lot lone granting CVHC the approximate one acre for this use; and WHEREAS, for the common benefit of the City the Band should be declared surplus and , deed to CVHC for the development of said child care center. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs as follows: Section 1. That the 0.763 acres being a portion of APN 669-500.020 (Lot 2) as more particularly described on exhibit A attached hereto, and made a part hereof, is hereby declared to be surplus land. Section 2. Staff is herein directed to prepare or cause to be prepared the necessary lot line adjustment. Section 3. Staff is hereby directed to provide for the: preparation of a grant deed of said O.763 acres from the City to CVHC. Section 4. That the City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute all necessary documents in form approved by City Attorney. ADOPTED this 2nd day of June _, 1993.
