HomeMy WebLinkAbout18100 - RESOLUTIONS - 6/2/1993 RESOLUTION NO. 18100 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING RECOMMENDED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 1993-94. WHEREAS, the City is eligible to receive an entitlement of $515,000 of Community Development Block Grant funds as a central city under the Department of Housing & ' Urban Development Regulations, and WHEREAS, the funds must be used for eligible activities which principally benefit low and moderate income people, and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Citizen's Participation Plan adopted by the City Council, the Citizen's Advisory Committee has held a public hearing to receive citizen's input on the allocation of these funds, and WHEREAS, the projects have been assessed by staff and the Citizen's Advisory Committee, based on needs of low and moderate income neighborhoods to benefit the maximum number of people. WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing to receive public input on the allocation of these funds, and NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California, does hereby approve the following allocations for the Community Development Block Grant funding: Desert AIDS Physician Costs $20,000. F.I.N.D. Operations (Food in Need of 2,000. Distribution) Housing Authority Nightengale Manor Emergency Shelter 8,500. Operations College of the Desert C.A.R.E. 1,000. Volunteer Center of Greater Riverside Long Term 2,000. Care Ombudsman Program Alternatives to Domestic Violence Operating Expenses 1,000. Fair Housing Council 21,750. Fair Housing Program Operations Desert Highland Job Training 12,000. Desert Highland Literacy Program 7,000. Mental Health Association 2,000. Boys and Girls Club Restroom Renovation 55,000. Palm Springs Youth Center Improvements 55,250. Senior Center Sign 20,000. Baristo Park Improvements 23,500. Home Rehabilitation/Senior Home Repair 100,000. Desert Highland Park Improvements 81,000. General Administration 88,250. Fair Housing Planning & Outreach 14,750. TOTAL COST 5515.000. ADOPTED this 2nd day of June 1993.
