RESOLUTION NO. 17959
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS,
CALIFORNIA, TEMPORARILY CLOSING CERTAIN STREETS
IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 1992 PALM SPRINGS ROAD
RACES.
WHEREAS the Palm Springs Road Races has been determined to be a City -sanctioned event;
and
WHEREAS the City Council approved in concept the temporary closure of specified city streets
► to allow the event to occur.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs,
California, as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council finds that to allow the 1992 Palm Springs Road
Races to occur, the temporary closure of certain streets is necessary for the
safety and protection of persons who are to participate in the special event.
This finding is made according to California Vehicle Code Section 21101.
Section 2. That the temporary street closures shall be as stated in the 1992 Palm
Springs Road Races' Track Construction/Road Closure Schedule on file in
the office of the City Clerk. Closures will begin at 6:00 a.m. and end at
T midnight on the days listed.
Section 3. The above temporary street closures will be authorized only after the
following conditions have been met, which conditions are deemed
necessary to protect public health and safety:

ADOPTED this 7th
Promoter provides the City with a $24,685 cash deposit.
Promoter provides the City with a bond of $12,343.
Promoter provides the Palm Springs Convention Center with a
signed convention center rental agreement.
Promoter provides the Palm Springs Convention Center with a
$6,000 cash deposit.
The foregoing bonds and agreements shall be in a form approved
by the City Attorney.
