HomeMy WebLinkAbout17929 - RESOLUTIONS - 8/12/1992 RESOLUTION NO. 17929 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ACQUISITION OF 1 LOT IN AN AREA SOUTH OF MESQUITE AVENUE, EAST OF EL CIELO ROAD, NORTH OF TAHQUITZ CREEK IN SECTIOM 19. WHEREAS, the property owner of 1 lot located -in an area south of Mesquite Avenue, East of El Cielo Road, North of Tahquitz Creel: and described in , Exhibits A & B attached hereto, has agreed to sell the subject lot to the City for the sum of $5,500.00; and WHEREAS, based on the opinion of a licensed appraiser, $5,500 is the fair market value for the subject lot; and WHEREAS, the highest and best use for the lot is for public purposes, recreational purposes and open space because the lot cannot be developed now or in the future for the reason that the lot is located in a 1.00 year flood plain elevation and there are no existing road improvements and/or public utilties to the lot. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that City Council of the City of Palm Springs, ` California, as follows: Section 1. That the acquisition of the lot described in Exhibits A & B is hereby approved. Section 2. That the City Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized to sign all documents an behalf of the City of Palm Springs, in a , form approved by the City Attorney, necessary to consummate the acquisition of the lot located South of Mesquite Avenue, East of Cielo Road and North of Tahquitz Creek described in Exhibits A & B attached hereto and make a part hereof for the total purchase price of $5,500 plus title and excrow fees. Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized to accept the deed and arrange 'For it to be recorded in the County Recorder's office on behalf of the City of Palm Springs. c ADOPTED this 12th day of August 1992.
