OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM
SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, DIRECTING STAFF TO
PREPARE A GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT AND LAND USE
STUDY AS NECESSARY FOR THE RELOCATION OF THE
CITY'S EQUESTRIAN CENTER TO CITY•••OWNED
PROPERTY IN SECTION 35
WHEREAS, the City of Palm Springs has filed an application
pursuant to Section 9402.00 of the Zoning Code for a Conditional
Use Permit for an expansion of the existing Municipal Golf Course
located in the Tahquitz Wash from the existing course off Golf Club r
Drive to Sonora Road, W, W-R-1-C, 0-5 Zones, Sections 19 and 20;
and
WHEREAS, the City's Equestrian Center presently exists within the
boundaries of the proposed expansion of the existing Municipal Golf
Course; and
WHEREAS, a Conditional Use Permit application has been filed to
relocate the Equestrian Center to the southeast corner of Mesquite
Avenue/Vella Road; and

WHEREAS, it has been determined that the proposed Mesquite r
Avenue/Vella Road site may not be a permanent location for the
Equestrian Center; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has carefully reviewed and considered all
of the evidence presented :in connection with the. Municipal Golf
Course Expansion and Equestrian Center relocation, including but
not limited to the staff reports, all environmental data including
the initial study, the proposed Negative Declaration and all
written and oral testimony presented.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Palm Springs that, based on the foregoing, City staff is hereby
directed to evaluate and initiate a General Plan Amendment. Study
and other land use studies for the relocation of the City's
Equestrian Center to the City-owned land in Section 35.
