HomeMy WebLinkAbout17875 - RESOLUTIONS - 6/3/1992 i r r RESOLUTION NO. 17875 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS,CALIFORNIA,DECLARING A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND TO BE SURPLUS AND DIRECT ITS SALE IN SECTION 1. 1 VJAEREAS the City of Palm Springs acquired the land at 1820 Racquet Club Drive, described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, in 1976 for the purpose of providing a building site for the City's low income housing plan; and WHEREAS in 1989 the subject land was dedicated to be used as a site for a joint ` Redevelopment Agency/Palm Springs Unified School District Housing Construction Program; and WHEREAS the Agency and School District executed an agreement for a construction skills training program; and WHEREAS the Community Redevelopment Agency is the owner of the house built on land in accordance with agreement and the City is the owner of the land; and WHEREAS the land is not needed for any project now or in the future and it would be in the best interest of the City to declare the land surplus and be sold; and i WHEREAS the Community Redevelopment Agency has requested the City sell the land to the Agency for $4,500, to be paid from the proceeds of a subsequent sale of the land and improvements. NOVJ THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California, as follows: Section 1. That the Hand located at 1820 Racquet Club Drive and described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, is hereby declared to be surplus land. Section 2. City staff is hereby directed to provide for the land to be sold to the Community Redevelopment Agency for $4,500, to be paid from the proceeds of the subsequent sale of the land and improvements in order to return the value of the land to the General Fund. Section 3. City Manager and City Clerk of the City of Palm Springs are hereby " authorized to execute any and all documents to consummate the sale of the subject premises. Section 4. The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a grant ` deed conveying said premises to the Community Redevelopment Agency. I� r r Resolution Mo. 17875 Page 2 ' section 5.
