HomeMy WebLinkAbout17871 - RESOLUTIONS - 6/3/1992 RESOLUTION NO. 17871 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ACQUISITION OF 3 LOTS IN AN AREA SOUTH OF MESQUITE AVENUE, EAST OF EL CIELO DRIVE, NORTH OF TAHQUITZ CREEK IN SECTION 19. WHEREAS the property owner of 3 lots located in an area south of Mesquite Avenue, East ` of El Cielo Drive, North of Tahquitz Creek and described in Exhibits A & B attached hereto, has agreed to sell the subject lots to the City for the sum of $14,500; and WHEREAS based on the opinion of a licensed appraiser, $14,500 is the fair market value for the subject lots; and WHEREAS the highest and best use for the lots is for public purposes, recreational purposes and open space because the lots cannot be developed now or in the future for the reason that the lots are located in a 100 year flood plain elevation and there are no existing road improvements and/or public utilities to the lots. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs as follows: Section 1. That the acquisition of the 3 lots described in Exhibits A & B is hereby approved. Section 2. That the City Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized to sign all documents approved as to form by the City Attorney on behalf of the City of Palm Springs necessary to consummate the acquisition of the 3 lots described in Exhibits A & B attached hereto and made part hereof for the total purchase price of $14,500 plus title and escrow fees. Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized to accept the deeds and arrange for the recordation of said deeds in the County Recorder's office on behalf of the City of Palm Springs.
