RESOLUTION NO. 17816
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM
SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PARCEL MAP
27412 FOR REVERSION TO ACREAGE PURPOSES ON
5 .48 ACRES LOCATED ON THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF
SONORA ROAD/EL CIELO ROAD, R-1-C ZONE, SECTION
19
WHEREAS the City has received an application by E1 Sonora
Associates for a Parcel Map for reversion to acreage purposes for
5 . 48 acres located on the northeast corner of Sonora Road/EIl Cielo
Road (the Project) ; and
WHEREAS the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing on
April 1, 1992, on said project; and
WHEREAS the City Council has reviewed all evidence provided at the
hearing including the staff report dated April 1, 1992 and all
other written and oral testimony, and find the Project consistent
with the requirements of the ordinances of the City and with State
law.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Palm Springs, California, after considering the evidence provided �
at the hearing does hereby approve the Parcel Map for property
hereinabove described in accordance with the following findings:
The City Council finds:
a. That the Parcel Map for reversion to acreage purposes is «
consistent with the existing General Plan land use and
policies.
b. That the project is consistent with the proposed draft General
Plan text on file with the State of Californis Office of y
Planning and Research (OPR) and there is a reasonable
probability that it will be consistent with the revised
general plan when adopted in that the project is consistent
with the overall density and land use character of the General
Plan which allows for single family residential uses in this
area.
C. That there is little or no probability the project will be
detrimental to or interfere with the future adopted General
Plan if the project is ultimately inconsistent with that plan.
If a lower or higher intensity of development is adopted, the
project would probably not be detrimental to the plan.
d. That all owners of an interest in the property within the
subdivision have consented to reversion.
e. That the proposed Parcel Map for reversion to acreage purposes
is properly authorized by Chapter 9 . 66 of the Municipal Code ,
and Section 66499. 11 et sea. of the California Government
Code.
ADOPTED this 1st day of P,pril 1992 .
