OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM
SPRINGS CALIFORNIA., APPROVING THE ENGINEER'S
REPORT; DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE '
STREET LIGHTS TO BE MAINTAINED, AND FURNISHED
WITH ELECTRIC SERVICES FOR A PERIOD OF FIVE
(5) YEARS FOR LIGHTING OF "PALM SPRINGS
LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT." NO. 1, (BELARDO
AREA) "IN SAID CITY; DECLARING THE WORT. TO BE
OF MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT
AND DESCRIBING THE DISTRICT TO BE BENEFITTED
BY SAID WORK AND TO PAY THE COSTS AND EXPENSES
AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR BEARING
OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK (LIGHTING NO. 1
BELARDO AREA)
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that. the City Council of Palm Springs,
pursuant to the provisions of the Street Lighting Act 0IL 1931,
being Part 2 of Division 14 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California, as follows:
Section 1. That the public :interest and convenience require,
and it is the intention of the City Council of the
City of Palm Springs, to order the following work
to be done, to wit:
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Maintain the street lighting system and provide
electric service therefore in the "Palm Springs
Street Lighting Maintenance District No. 1,
(Belardo Area) for a period of five (5) years.
Section 2 . MAPS, PLANS, AND SPECIFICATIONS - all of the said
work: and improvement to be done shall be along the
lines, between the points, of the dimensions and
district boundaries, at the places and in the '
manner shown on the diagram plat,, in two sheets,
and as described in the Report of the Director of
Community Development, acting as the Street
Superintendent of said street lighting improvement `
in Belardo Road, Cahuilla Road, Lugo Road, Patencio
Road, San Jacinto Drive, and South Tahquitz Drive.
The work lies generally between Palm Canyon Drive
and lots abutting the westerly side of South
Tahquitz Drive, and 'between the lots abutting the
south side of Ba:risto Road and tale lots abutting
the south side of Tahquitz Canyon Way. The work
includes the intersections of said streets with
other streets within said District (known as Street
Lighting Maintenance District No. 1) , which is on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
The City Council hereby approves the plans and
Engineer's -report: which reference: is hereby made
for a further, full and more particular description
of said work. By reference thereto the same are
incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
Section 3 . DESCRIPTION OF ASSESSMENT DISTRICT - The said ,
contemplated improvement, in the opinion of said

expenses of said work and improvenient and is to be
assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof.
The district is described as follows:
All that Certain territory of the City of Palm
Springs, California, exclusive of streets and
alleys, included within the exterior boundary line
shown upon that certain map or plat for Street
Lighting Maintenance District No. 1, hereby and
herein approved by the City Council of said City,
indicating by said boundary line the extent of the
territory included within the proposed assessment
district, and which map or plat is on file in the
office of the City Clerk of said City. Reference
is hereby made to said map or plat and report for a
further, full and Ynnore particulaa_ description of
said assessment district, and said map or plat so
on file shall govern for all details as to the
extent of said assessment district.
Section 4 , METHOD OF PAY14E°Na° - Individual assessments shall be
collected by the County Tax Collector at the same
time and in the same manner as County Taxes are
_. collected and in accordance with Section 18401,
Part of Division 14 of the Streets and Highways
Code of the State of California.
Section x. TIME AND PLACE OF HEAYaNG - Notice is hereby given
'that on the 17th day of July, 1991, at the hour of
7 e 30 p.m. in .t&ace City Council chamber in City Hall
of said City, any and all persons having any
objections to the proposed improvement or to the
extent of the maintenance district, or to the
proposed assessments, may appear and show cause why
said improvement should not be done or carried out
in accordance with this Resolution of Intention.
` Protests must be in writing and must be delivered
to the City Clerk prior to the time set for the
hearing.
Section 6. IMPROVEMENT ACT The "Desert Sun", a daily
newspaper printed, published and a general
circulation in the City of Palm Springs,
California, is hereby designated as the newspaper
in which the Resolution of Intention shall be
published by the City clerk, in the manner and form
provided by law, and making all other publications
in the proceedings under this Resolution of
Intention.
` The City Clerk is directed to publish the
Resolution of intention by one insertion in the
designated newspaper in accordance with Section
18343 , Part 2 of Division 14, of the Streets and
Highways Code- of the State of California.
Section 8 . POSTING OF NOTICE OF IMPROVEMENT - The
Superintendent of Streets of the City of Palm
Springs shall cause to be conspicuously posted
along the line of said contemplated work or

improvement and along all open streets within the
district liable to be assessed for said work,
notices of the passage of this Resolution of
Intention, in the manner provided by Sections 18360
and 18361, Part 2 of Division 14, of said Streets
and Highways Code.
