DESERT WATER AGENCY FACILITIES RELOCATION COST FOR E. PALM CANYON
DRIVE/GENE AUTRY TRAIL WIDENING
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council ratify issuance of a Purchase Order to Desert Water Agency
(DWA), in the amount of$24,866 for the cost of relocating water facilities for East
Palm Canyon Drive/Gene Autry Trail Widening, City Project No. 92-36.
BACKGROUND:
As part of the East Palm Canyon Drive/Gene Autry Trail Widening project
awarded by Council on May 17, 2000, to E.L. Yeager Co., Inc., the Desert Water
Agency (DWA) must relocate a number of their facilities, such as their valves and
fire hydrants. A written estimate has been received from DWA in the amount of
$24,866.00 for this work. A purchase order has been issued which DWA will bill
against. This will avoid delays to the construction contract.
Staff requests that Council ratify issuance of a Purchase Order to DWA for the
relocation of these facilities. Cost is 74% reimbursable from Riverside County
Transportation Commission (RCTC) Regional Measure A funding.
Sufficient funds are available in account no. 134-4498-50174 (Gene Autry/Hwy
111)

I HEREBY CERTIFY that this Minute Order ratifying issuance of a Purchase Order to
Desert Water Agency (DWA), in the amount of$24,866 for the cost of relocating water
facilities for East Palm Canyon/Gene Autry Trail Widening, City Project No. 92-36, was
approved by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California, in a meeting thereof
held on the 61h day of September 2000.
