OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM
SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING ENTERING
INTO AN AGREEMENT FOR. INTERIM CITY
ATTORNEY SERVICES.

WHEREAS, the City' s City Attorney has resigned effective August 4 ,
1990; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to contract with an interim City
Attorney for a period of approximately 60 days pending receipt of
responses to Requests for Proposal for contract City Attorney
services; and
WHEREAS, services of an interim City Attorney are being sought
through the assistance of the firm of Mathis and Associates, which
firm is assisting the Council in its selection of an interim City
Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to have an interim City Attorney
on board on or about August 6, or as soon thereafter as practical.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Palm Springs as follows:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Palm
Springs with Mathis and Associates for assistance to
the City Council in the selection of an interim City
Attorney in an amount of not to exceed $2500,
including expenses.
Section 2 . That the City Manager is authorized to enter
into a contract with an interim City Attorney
selected by a sub-committee of the City Council in
an amount and in accordance with terms and
conditions to be negotiated by a sub--committee of
the City Council appointed by the Mayor for such
purpose.
