HomeMy WebLinkAbout17023 - RESOLUTIONS - 2/21/1990 RESOLUTION NO. 17023 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING THE INGLESIDE INN AS A CLASS 1 HISTORIC SITE. ?F dF iE 9E a WHEREAS the Ingleside Inn and its associated personages have contributed substantially to the history of the City of Palm Springs; and WHEREAS the Ingleside Inn has long been a landmark for both residents ' and visitors in the City of Palm Springs; and WHEREAS Chapter 8.05 of the Palm Springs Municipal Code allows for the designation of historic sites; and r WHEREAS on May 8, 1989, the Historic Site Preservation Board held a public hearing to designate the Ingleside Inn as an historic site and unanimously recommended to the City Council designation of said property as a Class 1 Historic Site; and WHEREAS the City Council concurs in the recommendation of the Historic Site Preservation Board regarding the historic value of the Ingleside Inn; and WHEREAS the designation of the Ingleside Inn shall further the purposes and intent of Chapter 8.05; and WHEREAS the designation of the Ingleside Inn shall promote the sensitive preservation of said site. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California as follows: Section ] .The Ingleside Inn, located on Ramon Road between Belardo and Cahuilla Roads, shall be designated a Class 1 Historic Site pursuant to Chapter 8.05 of the Palm Springs Municipal Code. The site is located on Lots 8 and 9 of the subdivision of Palm Springs, as recorded at Page 432 of Map Book 9, Riverside County, California; APN 513-212-003. ' Section 2. No permit for the exterior alteration to the Ingleside Inn shall be granted without the prior approval of the Historic Site Preservation Board; alterations shall preserve the historic integrity of the site. A plaque demarking the Ingleside Inn shall be placed on the site. Section 3.The City of Palm Springs shall not cause this site to be listed in any publicly—distributed materials, for sale or otherwise, regarding historic sites without the owner's permission.
