CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
FEBRUARY 10, 1987
An Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of
Palm Springs, California was called to order by Mayor Bogert, in
the Council Chamber, 3200 Tahquitz-McCallum Way, on Tuesday,
February 10, 1987, at 3 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Present: Members Apfelbaum, Birer, Foster, Smith
and Chairman Bogert
Absent: None
REPORT OF POSTING OF AGENDA:
City Clerk reported that the Agenda was posted on Friday,
February 6, 1987 in the Library Reference Room, and City
Hall lobby.
PUBLIC COMMENTS: None
LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
1. McCALLUM DESERT PRESERVE - GRANT APPLICATION
Recommendation: That the Council approve filing a grant
application for Land and Water Conservation Grant Funds
in amount of $113,000 for the development of the Preserve;
and authorize City Manager to sign documents as required.

Director of Community Services highlighted his report and
stated that matching funds are available.
Resolution 16118 authorizing filing the application, as
recommended, was presented; after which, it was moved by
Foster, seconded by Apfelbaum, and unanimously carried,
that Resolution 16118 be adopted.
2. GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE - LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
Recommendation: That the Council approve Letter of Under-
standing with the Palm Springs Golden Anniversary Inc. ,
and amend the budget to appropriate $128,603 as seed money.
Director of Community Services highlighted his report.
Barbara Whitney, Chairman of the group, stated that the (117)
Letter of Understanding has been signed; that they agree
to a full reimbursement of 25%, and anticipate a complete
reimbursement of the funds paid by the City; that the funding
represents only administrative costs, and nothing for special
events or activities during the celebration.
Minute Order 3876 approving the Letter of Understanding,
and Resolution 16119 amending the budget to appropriate
the funds, were presented; after which, it was moved by
_ Smith, seconded by Birer, and unanimously carried, that
Minute Order 3876 and Resolution 16119 be adopted.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Mayor declared the meeting
adjourned.
