HomeMy WebLinkAbout1562 - ORDINANCES - 9/16/1998 ORDINANCE NO. 1562 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, SUSPENDING THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 2.04.100 OF THE PALM SPRINGS MUNICIPAL CODE, CONCERNING VOLUNTARY EXPENDITURE ' CEILING FOR ELECTION CAMPAIGNS. ---------------- BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, as follows: SECTION 1. Section 2.04.100 of the Palm Springs Muncipal Code, concerning voluntary expenditure ceiling for election campaigns, is hereby suspended until such time as the constitutionality of Prop. 208 is resolved through a final judgment or settlement rendered in the matter of California Prolife Council Political Action Committee v. Scully (E.D. Cal 1998) 989 F. Supp.1282; and/or until such time as an ordinance repealing this suspension is adopted by the City Council. ADOPTED this 16th day of September 1998.
