CITY OF PALM SPRINGS
CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
APRIL 20, 1982
An Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council was called to
order by Mayor Doyle, in the Council Chamber, 3200 Tahquitz-
McCallum Way, on Tuesday, April 20, 1982, at 7:30 p.m.
• ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmembers Field, Ortner, Rose and
Mayor Doyle
Absent: None
The meeting was opened with the salute to the Flag and an invoca-
tion by Rabbi Hurwitz, Temple Isaiah.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
It was moved by Rose, seconded by Ortner, and unanimously
carried, that the minutes of April 6, 1982 be approved.

LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
1 . GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION - DECLARATION OF RESULTS
City Clerk presented certificate, as follows, indicating
Y the names of the persons voted for; and the number of
votes given for each person, in each precinct in the
City, and presented Resolution 14210 reciting the results
of the election and declaring and determining that:

a) Frank Bogert was elected Mayor of said City for the
full term of two years; (83)
b) Lloyd Maryanov was elected as Member of the City
Council of said City for the full term of four
years; and
c) W.A. 'Bill " Foster was elected Member of the City
Council of said City for the full term of four
years,
and entitled:

CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON APRIL 13,
1982, DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER
MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW.
It was moved by Field, seconded by Ortner, and unani-
mously carried, that Resolution 14210 be adopted.
EXHIBIT A
I, JUDITH SUMICH, City Clerk of the City of Palm Springs, County
of Riverside, State of California, duly authorized by Resolution
adopted by the City Council of said City, adopted on the 2nd day
of December, 1981, do hereby certify that I have caused the
returns of the regular general municipal election held in said City
on the 13th day of April, 1982, to be canvassed by the County Clerk,
and find that the number of votes given in the City to persons
voted for, the respective offices for which said persons were
candidates, are shown attached hereto.

2. COMMENDATIONS
Resolutions 14211 , 14212 and 14213, commending Russell
Beirich, Robert Rose and Elliot Field, for their service
• as members of the City Council , were presented by Mayor (70)
Doyle; after which, it was moved by Doyle, seconded by
Ortner, and unanimously carried, that said resolutions
be adopted.
Mayor read each resolution in full And presented same
to Messrs. Beirich, Rose and Field, respectively.
3. SWEARING-IN CEREMONIES
Newly elected Mayor Bogert and Councilmembers Maryanov
and Foster, were sworn into office by the City Clerk, (70)
loyalty oaths executed, and received their certificates
r of election.
4. ELECTION OF MAYOR PRO TEM
Mayor called for nominations for the office of Mayor
pro tem. Lloyd Maryanov was nominated by John Doyle;
there were no other nominations; and Mr. Maryanov was (70)
elected Mayor pro tem by unanimous consent.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business at 8:15 p.m. , Mayor
declared the meeting adjourned.
