AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PALM
SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE
ZONING ORDINANCE TO INCLUDE
STANDARDS REGARDING AREAS FOR THE
LOADING AND COLLECTION OF RECYCLABLE
MATERIALS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION to The title of Section 9307.02 is amended to read as
follows°
HTRASH AND RECYCLABLE MATERIAL ENCLOSURES"
SECTION 2. Section 9307.02 is amended by adding the following
subsection 9307.02 D:
"D. Recyclable Material Enclosures
1. At least one recyclable materials enclosure,
accommodating a minimum three cubic yard bin, shall be
provided for all uses as stated above in Section 9307.02
including single family residential developments which
include a trash collection area serving five or more
units. Such enclosure shall adhere to all requirements
set forth above in Section 9307.02A.
2> Recyclable material enclosures shall be incorporated into
required trash enclosure structures or located in
proximity to 'the trash enclosure.
3. Each enclosure shall include a sign, identifying the use
of the bin for storage of recyclable materials, placed on
the enclosure entrance gates and shall be no larger than
two (2) square feet. The colors of the sign shall be
ivory and brown."
SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. The Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect thirty days after passage.
SECTION 4. PUBLICATION. the City Clerk is hereby ordered and
directed to certify the passage of this ordinance,
and cause the same or a summary thereof or a
display advertisement, duly prepared according to
law, -to be published in accordance with law.
