HomeMy WebLinkAbout1/12/1982 - MINUTES CITY„OF; PALM SPRINGS CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY_,12, 1982 An Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Doyle, in the Large Conference Room, City Hall , 3200 Tahquitz-McCallum Way, on Tuesday, January 12, 1982, at 3 p.m. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmembers Field, Ortner, Rose and Mayor Doyle Absent: None LEGISLATIVE ACTION: 1 . AIRPORT USE & SECURITY AGREEMENTS - PACIFIC EXPRESS Recommendation : That the Council approve Airport Use and Security Reimbursement Agreements with Pacific Express, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pacific Express Holding, Inc. , for a two-year period. Transportation Director reviewed his report, dated (51 ) January 12, 1982 , detailing the service to be provided, aircraft to be used initially and ultimately; and fares to be charged. City Attorney stated that a review of changes in the bankruptcy laws may result in a future change in the agreement, and although perhaps not effective, the provisions are not illegal . In answer to questions by Council , Transportation Director detailed experience of officers of the company; and posting of $25,000 deposit guaranteeing performance. Resolutions 14117 and 14118, approving the use agreement and security reimbursement agreement, were presented; after which, it was moved by Ortner, seconded by Rose, and unanimously carried, that Resolutions 14117 and 14118 be adopted. 2. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION PROJECT STEERING COMMITTEE Mayor stated that due to philosophical differences, Steve Platt has declined appointment, as representative of the Downtown Development Advisory Commission, to the Steering Committee, and recommended the appointment ( of Paul Selzer as representative. 133) It was moved by Doyle, seconded by Field, and unani- mously carried, that Paul Selzer be appointed to the Steering Committee, to replace Steve Platt, as Downtown Development Advisory Commission representative.
