HomeMy WebLinkAbout1357 - ORDINANCES - 7/31/1990 ORDINANCE NO. 1357 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PAIL SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTIONS 2 . 25. 020 AND 2 .25. 030 OF THE PALM SPRINGS MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO CONVENTION CENTER CIOMMISSION. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 2 . 25. 020 of the Palm Springs Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 2 . 25. 020 CONVENTION CENTER COMMISSION. Creation. There is hereby created within the City of Palm Springs a Convention Center commission, consisting of seven members, appointed in the manner prescribed in Section 2 . 04 . 060 of this code. SECTION 2 . Section 2 . 25 . 030 of the Palm Springs Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 2 .25, 030 TERM--_VACANCIES--VOTE. Members of the Commission shall serve for the term provided by Chapter 2 . 06 of the Palm Springs Municipal Code, except that two members shall be appointed to teams effective July 1, 1990 expiring June 30, 1993 and two members shall be appointed to terms effective July 1, 1990 expiring June 30, 1994 . Existing terms will remain in effect as follows; two terms shall remain in effect through June 30, 1991 and one term through June 30, 1992 . Members of the Commission shall be selected based on the following criteria: (a) Have expertise :in accounting, law, management or other business or professional areas. (b) Have low potential for conflict of interest arising out of the employment„ investments or sources of income of the member. (c) Have no contractual or other business involvements with or related to the Convention Center.. Four members shall constitute a quorum of the Commission, and any ruling, decision or other action of the Commission may be taken by a majority of those members present, provided a quorum is present. Ord No. 1357 A Page 2 6 -psi- SECTION 3 . EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days after passage. SECTION 4 . PUBLICATION. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance, and to cause the same or a summary thereof or a display advertisement, duly prepared according to law, to be published in accordance with law.
