AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE
AMENDING THE FUNCTIONS, POWERS AND
DUTIES OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
COMMISSION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: SECTION 2.22.040 of the Palm Springs Municipal Code is
hereby amended by adding thereto subsections (10) , (11) , (12) , ,(13) and
(14) to read as follows:
( 10) To review requests from developers of projects in Palm Springs
for financial and non-financial special assistance and subsidies for
economic benefit to the City.
( 11) To review General Plan amendments and revisions and Zoning Ordinance
amendments for impacts to the City' s overall economic health.
( .12) To review the Economic Development Department and Community
Redevelopment Agency annual budgets and major budget amendments.
( 13) To review Redevelopment activities in Project Areas without
established Project Area Committees for economic impacts on the City.
( 14) Specific policies and procedures shall be developed by the City
Manager as needed to implement items (1 ) through (1) above.
SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect thirty (30) days after passage.
SECTION 3. PUBLICATION. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed
to certify to the passage of this Ordinance, and to cause the same or
a summary thereof or a display advertisement, duly prepared according
to law, to be published in accordance with law.
ADOPTED this 17th day of January 1990.
