HomeMy WebLinkAbout8/2/2000 - STAFF REPORTS (24) Date: August 2, 2000 To: City Council From: Information Systems Specialist via Director of Information Technology COMPUTER SOFTWARE SUPPORT FOR THE HP3000 RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve purchase of maintenance support for the HP3000 computer system from Hewlett-Packard Co, of Roseville, CA for an additional one-year period (FY 2000/2001) in the amount of$1930. BACKGROUND: The City's Information Technology Department provides operational support for the HP3000 computer system, which runs software primarily for the Library, City Clerk, Sanitation and TOT billing. Staff recommends the purchase of software support from Hewlett-Packard, a sole source provider of HP software support, in order to maintain the system software HP3000. The maintenance support allows for timely response to system software failures and to provide phone-in administration support for assistance in determining computer software problems. Funds have been budgeted for this purpose, and are available using account 001-1120- 42950 Information Services HP Software Maintenance. APPROVED: Randy Cobb mes W. OF ROSEVILLE, CA, FOR AN ADDITIONAL ONE-YEAR PERIOD (FY 2000/2001) IN THE AMOUNT OF $1930. --------------- I HEREBY CERTIFY that this Minute Order approving the purchase of software maintenance support for the HP3000 computer system from Hewlett-Packard Co. of Roseville, CA, for an additional one-year period (FY 2000/2001) in the amount of$1,930, was adopted by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California, in a meeting thereof held on the 2nd day of August, 2000.
