AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS,
CALIFORNIA, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1580
CHANGING THE ZONING DESIGNATION OF
PROPERTY LOCATED IN SECTION 10 FROM W-R-1-A
(WATER COURSE WITH SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL
- 20,000 SO. FT. LOT SIZE) TO 0-20 (OPEN SPACE - 20
ACRES MINIMUM LOT SIZE)
WHEREAS, the Mountain Falls Golf Preserve Company filed an application with
the City of Palm Springs ("City") to amend the zoning designation of land located within
Section 10 for the purpose of facilitating development of an 18 hole golf course,
clubhouse complex with restaurant/bar/pro shop/guesthouse, maintenance building, and
20 condominium units (the"Project"); and
WHEREAS, on February 2, 2000, the City Council of the City of Palm Springs
adopted Ordinance No.1580, amending the Zoning Map of the City of Palm Springs;and
WHEREAS, on March 31, 2000, the Sierra Club filed a supplemental petition for
writ of mandate challenging the City's approval of Ordinance No. 1580;
WHEREAS, the Court, on June 5, 2000, entered Judgment on the supplemental
petition for writ of mandate and ordered that a writ of mandate be issued directing the
City to set aside Ordinance No. 1580.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: REPEAL. The City Council of the City of Palm Springs hereby
repeals Ordinance No. 1580.
SECTION 2: PUBLICATION. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to
certify to the passage of this Urgency Ordinance, and to cause the same or summary
thereof or a display advertisement, duly prepared according to law, to be published in
accordance with law.

CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 12.20.020 OF THE
PALM SPRINGS MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO
ESTABLISHMENT OF CERTAIN SPEED LIMIT ZONES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS,CALIFORNIA,DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Street Speed Limit List In Section 12.20.020 of the Palm Springs
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS,
CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE PALM SPRINGS
MUNICIPAL CODE.
WHEREAS, the Book Publishing Company, Seattle, Washington, has compiled, edited
and published a codification of the permanent and general ordinances of the City of
Palm Springs, California; and
WHEREAS, there are now on file in the office of the City Clerk, for public inspection,
three copies of a document entitled"Palm Springs Municipal Code;"
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA DOES
ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. ADOPTION. There is hereby adopted the "Palm Springs Municipal
Code," as compiled, edited and published by Book Publishing Company,
Seattle, Washington.
Section 2. TITLE—CITATION—REFERENCE. This code shall be known as the
"Palm Springs Municipal Code" and it shall be sufficient to refer to said
code as the "Palm Springs Municipal Code" in any prosecution for the
violation of any provision thereof or in any proceeding at law or equity. It
shall be sufficient to designate any ordinance adding to, amending,
correcting or repealing all or any part or portion thereof as an addition to,
amendment to, correction or repeal of the "Palm Springs Municipal Code.'
References may be made to the titles, chapters, sections and subsections
of the "Palm Springs Municipal Code" and such references shall apply to
those titles, chapters, section or subsections as they appear in the code.
Section 3. REFERENCE APPLIES TO ALL AMENDMENTS. Whenever a reference
Is made to this code as the "Palm Springs Municipal Code" or to any
portion thereof, or to any ordinance of the City of Palm Springs,
California, codified herein, the reference shall apply to all amendments,
corrections and additions heretofore, now or hereafter made.
Section 4. TITLE, CHAPTER AND SECTION HEADINGS. Title, chapter and section
headings contained herein shall not be deemed to govern, limit, modify or
In any manner affect the scope, meaning or Intent of the provisions of any
title, chapter or section hereof.
Section 5. REFERENCE TO SPECIFIC ORDINANCES. The provisions of this code
shall not In any manner affect matters of record which refer to, or are
otherwise connected with ordinances which are therein specifically
designated by number or otherwise and which are included within the
code, but such reference shall be construed to apply to the corresponding
provisions contained within this code.
Section 6. ORDINANCES PASSED PRIOR TO ADOPTION OF THE CODE. The
last ordinance included in this code was Ordinance 1566, passed 2/3/99. _ ---------
The following ordinances, passed subsequent to Ordinance 1566, but
prior to adoption of this code, are hereby adopted and made a part of this
code: Ordinances 1567 through 1586.

Section 7. EFFECT OF CODE ON PAST ACTIONS AND OBLIGATIONS. The
adoption of this code does not affect prosecutions for ordinance violations
committed prior to the effective date of the code, does not waive any fee
or penalty due and unpaid on the effective date of this code, and does not
affect the validity of any bond or cash deposit posted, filed or deposited
pursuant to the requirements of any ordinance.
Section 8. CONSTITUTIONALITY. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this code is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional,
such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this
code.
Section 9. REFERENCES TO PRIOR CODE. References in city forms, documents
and regulations to the chapters and sections of the former city code shall
be construed to apply to the corresponding provisions contained within
this code.
Section 10. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be in full force effect thirty (30)
days after passage.
Section 11. PUBLICATION. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to certify
to the passage of this Ordinance, and to cause the same or a summary
thereof, or a display advertisement, duly prepared according to law, to be
published in accordance with law.
