HomeMy WebLinkAbout7/19/2000 - STAFF REPORTS (8) 49 DATE: July 19, 2000 TO: City Council FROM: Landside and Contract Administrator via Director of Aviation CHANGE ORDER FOR THE TAXI/BUS HOLDING BUILDING PROJECT RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council approve Change Order#4 with James E.Simon Co.for work related to final completion of the taxi/bus holding building for an amount not-to-exceed$6,866.60. BACKGROUND: The taxi/bus holding building project is approaching completion. As part of the final inspection and close out process, the planning department, airport staff and the project architect identified several areas of concern that need to be addressed. As some of these Items fall outside of the initial project scope,a final change order will be necessary in order to enhance aesthetics and correct all discrepancies noted. The following is a list of additional work items needed for project completion: 1) provide color concrete and a slight modification to the layout of the bike path for consistency and uniformity of City standards;2)paint the electrical panel along the north side of the building to match the color of the facility; 3) install two additional trees for landscaping improvements;4)provide installation of metal flashing to the roof to correct a roofing detail issue; 5) install a larger concrete pad for the condenser unit to accommodate servicing requirements related to the size of the unit. Sufficient funds are available in Airport Development Taxi/Bus Overflow Building account number 415-6400-56020 .
