DESERT WATER AGENCY FACILITIES RELOCATION COSTS FOR HERITAGE TRAIL
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve an Agreement with Desert Water Agency (DWA) in
a form to be approved by the City Attorney, in the amount of$25,000 for the
costs of relocating water facilities, City Project No, 93-49
BACKGROUND:
As part of the Heritage Trail improvements in the Downtown area, DWA must
relocate a number of their facilities such as fire hydrants and water meters. We
have received a written estimate of $85,238 from DWA for work which includes
relocation work which may not actually be required due to Heritage Trail, but
which DWA wishes to accomplish along with the Heritage Trail work.
Staff proposes to enter into an Agreement, in a form to be approved by the City
Attorney, in the amount of $25,000 and monitor the work to insure that only
relocations required directly as a result of the Heritage Trail project are paid for by
the City. The construction costs directly related to the Heritage Trail project are
88.53% reimbursable from the Federal grant.
Sufficient funds are available in account number 134-4498-50135 (Heritage Trail
Construction).
