Parlang Lot in the amount of$3,575.00 for a total contract amount of$13,575.00 City Project No. 98-15. BACKGROUND: On October 7, 1998, City Council approved Agreement No. 4029 with Sanborn A/E, for engineering services,including Feparation of plans, specs, and estimates for the expansion of the paddng lot at the Lobster Company, contract not to exceed$10,000.00. On July 28, 1999, City Council awarded a contract to G&M Construction for the construction of the Lobster Company Paddng Lot. Scope of Services of Agreement No. 4029,is proposed to be amended to provide the City with construction surveying and stalang services necessary to establish sufficient harzontal and vertical control for layout of the various proposed improvements to be installed by G& M Construction. The total adjustment to the Agreement for these additional services is $3,575.00 Sufficient fimds to cover this First Amendment to Agreement No. 4029 are available in account number 131-Wl-54007(Lobstr Co. SECTION 2.1. Contract Sum, is hereby amended to provide a maximum oontmct amount of$13,375.00, an increase of$39575.00 2. SECTION 5.1, Term, is hereby amended to read: Unless earlier terminated in accordance with Section 5.2 below, this Agreement shall contimte in full force and effect until December 1, Il999. 3. Provide one set of stakes for wall construction. 5. Provide necessary office support. 4. CITY OF PALM SPRINGS NOTICE INVITING BIDS For constructing LOBSTER COMPANY Parking Lot Upgrade - Project 98-15 N-1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids for the construction of Lobster Company Parking Lot Upgrade will be received at the office of the Procurement Manager of the City of Palm Springs, California, until 2 p.m. on July 13, 1999, at which time they will be opened and read aloud. N-2 DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK: The Work comprises the improvement of the Lobster Company Parking Lot. The project consists of removal, disposal, and construction of asphalt concrete pavement and overlay, construction of new sidewalk, curb, and drive approaches, striping, stamped concrete, landscaping, irrigation system installation, and electrical system installation for lighting. N-3 AWARD OF CONTRACT: (a) The City reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality (non- responsiveness) in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder and reject all other bids, as it may best serve the interest of the City. (b) As a condition of award, the successful bidder will be required to submit payment and performance bonds and insurance, N-4 BID SECURITY: •each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or Bid Bond in the amount of 10 percent of the total bid price, payable to the City of Palm Springs. N-5 BIDS TO REMAIN OPEN: The Bidder shall guarantee the Total Bid Price for a period of 45 calendar days from the date of bid opening. N-6 CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE CLASSIFICATION: The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A Contractor license at the time of submitting bids. N-7 PREVAILING WAGE RATES NOT APPLICABLE: Funding for the Work is with all local funds and, as provided under City Charter, will NOT require compliance with the prevailing wage requirements of the State of California. N-8 RETAINAGE FRON PAMaXITS: The Contractor may elect to receive 100 percent of payments due under the Contract Documents from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payment by the City, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code.
