CALL TO ORDER: Chair Loyola called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioners: Loyola, Rimas, Horne, Soja, Rinke, Strong and Nevins. Absent: Commissioners Greer and Vignolo Staff Present: Jeremy Hammond, Deputy City Manager, City Manager's Office 3. ACCEPTANCE OF THE AGENDA. MOTION BY: Motion by Commissioner Rinke to accept the agenda. Second by Commissioner Rimas. MOTION PASSES. YES 7; NO 0; ABSTAINED 0 4. PRESENTATIONS: None 5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Revisions proposed to minutes of May 12, 2025. MOTION BY: Commissioner Scja, Second by Commissioner Rinke to adopt the revised May 12, 2025, minutes. MOTION PASSES. YES 7; NO 0; ABSTAINED 0 01 J r 6. WELCOME AND COMMENTS FROM THE HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION CHAIR Chair Loyola presented introductory comments and introduced Commissioner Strong. 7. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Public comments were presented by Abraham Ishaq, Jane Dodd, Sierra Alvarez, Jake Bachman, Moe Elabdallah, Cambria Blake and Nicole Panter Daly (written comments attached). 8. NEW BUSINESS: A. Draft Presentation — Joint meeting with the City Council The Commission reviewed and provided input on the draft presentation prepared by Chair Loyola. Commissioners were reminded to submit their RSVP for the meeting scheduled June 17, 2025. B. Discussion Regarding Intergroup Tensions The Commission discussed intergroup tensions impacting the City of Palm Springs and created a subcommittee comprised of Vice -Chair Vignolo and Commissioner Rinke to consider the matter in further depth and return to the full Commission with recommendations. 9.
