Maura / Chris,
As discussed, here are the questions that the Tahquitz Creek Golf Neighborhood Organization
(TCGNO) received over the past few weeks after sending out an e-mail request for same to our
mailing list of about 250 individuals.
Reading these questions should help you prepare for the July 22 Planning Commission Meeting,
when the Commission will be seeking input from the neighborhood regarding the noise issues at the
Palm Springs Surf Club.
Please let us know of any questions that you might have.
We look forward to a productive session on July 22.

How many times have City residents issued complaints about undue noise?
How many times did the City investigate those complaints?
How many times did the City find that the Surf Club was violating noise regulations?
What has the City done in response to violations?
2
Has the City regularly reviewed data from the Surf Club’s onsite noise monitoring
equipment? If so, what was the outcome?
How many of the complaints have been due to the wave-making machinery and how
many have been due to music or events?
What additional noise mitigation measures has the Surf Club instituted?
What are any further noise mitigation measures planned by the Surf Club, and what
timetable for installation are they willing to commit to?
Does the Surf Club have any plans to expand its operations?
How many times a year is the PSSC permitted to have special events like music festivals
or extreme sports events, or is it unlimited?
Why was the PSSC allowed to not correct their wave machine noise issues before they
celebrated their grand opening earlier this year?
We live on S. Brentwood Dr and when the laud music is blasting, crowds yelling, rider’s
screaming and the wave machine is roaring away, the tranquility of our beautiful and
diverse Palm Springs is destroyed. Please shorten their hours and have City staff monitor
the noice recorders. Please allow us to enjoy our home and our retirement. Please!
