Dear Mayor deHarte, Councilmembers, and City Staff, I’m writing to voice my strong support for the renewal of PS Resorts' contract with the City of Palm Springs. As the founder of Splash House, I’ve worked with PS Resorts for over a decade. Their mission to drive tourism through events, especially during the summer, was one of the reasons why my family and I decided to pursue Splash House in the first place in 2013. Their early support helped us grow through years when the event was still finding its footing, and their continued backing has played a major role in our ability to scale. Today, Splash House draws more than 10,000 attendees per weekend and generates tens of millions in economic impact for local hotels, restaurants, and small businesses. Just as importantly, the event supports hundreds of local jobs at a time when tourism and hospitality work is slow. Beyond that, PS Resorts’ support has also helped us launch Desert Air at the Palm Springs Air Museum and pursue unique projects like an upcoming filmed music experience on the Palm Springs Aerial Tram that will spotlight the city and the tram to a global audience. These are high-investment, high-risk endeavors that wouldn’t be possible without PS Resorts’ early-stage support. More than funding, they represent a city-backed commitment to innovation and cultural programming, which is why partners like Goldenvoice and I continue to invest here. Palm Springs has benefited greatly from PS Resorts’ work—not just in tourism dollars, but in building the city’s modern identity as a destination for creative, experience- driven travelers. Their value is proven, and their continued work is vital. I respectfully urge you to support the contract extension and ensure PS Resorts can continue delivering for Palm Springs.
